An Accra High court will consider a bail application of Alhaji Dawood, the businessman who is believed to have aided Nayele Ametefeh to transport 12.5kg of cocaine to the UK on Friday December 12, 2014.
According to Joy News, Nayele’s alleged accomplices, Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Sandra Nuhu who are also charged with conspiracy to commit crime, were also refused bail by the sitting Judge, Justice Francis Obiri.
Twelve persons are standing trial in connection with the cocaine bust after Nayele Ametefeh was arrested on November 10.
Though the principal suspect, Nayele Ametefeh has pleaded guilty in UK court and will reappear on January 5, 2015 for sentencing, Alhaji Dawood was once again denied bail on Monday. The court will give its reasons for denying bail on Friday.
The two other main suspects,Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Sandra Nuhu were seeking bail because they are nursing mothers. The court however refused.
They are expected back in court on December 12, 2014 to hear why they were refused bail.
