National Youth Organizer of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Abu Ramadan is of the conviction that the ruling NDC and President John Dramani Mahama lack the creative ability to transform the agric sector into an attractive business for the youth.
According to him, the National Democratic Congress' creative ability is asleep when they are in government and completely dead when they go into opposition thus it will be difficult for President John Mahama to make agriculture an attractive venture.
Speaking on Oman Fms National Agenda, Abu Ramadan blamed President Mahama for the hard living conditions in the country as he [the President] has not been able to do anything to encourage people to move into agriculture despite the abundant of fertile lands.
He enlightened that as the whites have advanced and mechanized their agricultural sector, the NDC government with their long serving experience in governance has not opened up the agric sector to make it more attractive.
Arabs without good lands are cultivating food items on their deserts; Burkina Faso does not have the quality of soil we have here but they have managed to transform their country into first class agricultural nation in the world and not only in Africa. We used to cultivate potatoes and when we were cultivating potatoes, Burkina Faso was not; they picked the technology from us here and now they are one of the leading potatoes exports into Europe, he said.
He further added that "the European markets will be in trouble if Burkina Faso decides to stop exporting potatoes to Europe..it tells you the quantum of production or export that enters into Europe from Burkina Faso and the source of revenue the government gets from Europe..the truth is that, NDC's creative ability is asleep when in government and dead when in opposition.
