Unconfirmed reports received say there is an imminent shake-up at the presidency with three key government officials rumoured to have deserted their posts ahead of a supposed ministerial reshuffle by the President.
The current status of appointment of the President's Executive Secretary, Dr Raymond Atuguba; Senior Communications Adviser and Head of Communications at the Presidency, Ben Dotse Malor and Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, is unknown with the grapevine news they have resigned or been replaced respectively, although government has remained quiet on the speculations.
Peacefmonline.com sources at the Flagstaff House say Mr Prosper Bani has been replaced by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Valerie Sawyerr.
Efforts to verify the report from some of the names being circulated have hit the rocks.
When Peacefmonline Editor, Kwadwo Asante reached Ben Dotse Malor on phone Tuesday morning, after repeated calls and sms's on the subject sent to his phone, the former BBC journalist said he was "in a meeting and will call back". More than 24hrs after that brief response, he is yet to react to the news or provide any form of feedback despite follow-up calls on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, according to JoyFM, an Accra-based private radio station, a call made to Raymond Atuguba Wednesday morning was responded by an 'automatic' text message: "Thanks for your call/text. I am on leave from the Office of the President of Ghana (OoP). For OoP business please contact the Chief of Staff..."
