Hundreds of Ghanaians have joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in their much talked-about demonstration dubbed 'W)n Gbo'.
The 'W)n Gbo' demonstration is for Ghanaians to express their displeasure in government’s inability to solve the ever-worsening power crisis in the country as well as the declining rate of the economy.
The demonstrators gathered at the Obra Spot in Accra poised to show the Mahama-led administration that they are not happy with energy crisis in the country which is destroying their work and denying their relatives of proper health care.
According to PEACE FM correspondent, Naana Ntiri, the demonstrators started arriving at the Obra Spot as early as 4am, mostly clad in black and red attire.
The designated routes are from the Obra Spot, Farisco, TUC through Accra Poly then the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and finally end at Hearts of Oak Park.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service are also busily assisting in ensuring a problem-free demonstration.
Chanting and berating the Mahama government for the sufferring they are currently going through, the demonstrators first took to the Adabraka-Central main road but found it extremely difficult to move out of the Obra Spot. Their numbers were clearly too large for a rallying point too small.
The party's 2016 flagbearer Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo arrived to a tumultuous reception before the demonstration began
Together with his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, they will address the crowd when the demonstrators finally converge at the Hearts of Oak Park.
