The Holy Bible says in Matthew 6:33 that "...seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you"
Applying this scripture and juxtaposing it to the ongoing power crisis in the country, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Prof. Kofi Agyekum also known as Opanyin Agyekum has advised the Mahama led administration to seek first the kingdom of light and all things will be added to them.
The energy crisis in the country keeps going from bad to worse and even though several promises have been made by government, none of them have seen the light of day.
The government is currently relying on three interventions to address the energy crisis – the completion of the Kpone Thermal Plant, expansion of Tico Thermal Project in Takoradi and the purchase of two barges from Turkey. These interventions, if realized, would add over 700 megawatts of power, which should be enough to cancel the current 600 megawatts deficit.
Opanyin Agyekum in a panel discussion on Peace FM morning show kokrokoo bemoaned the ever worsening power crisis in the country as well as the great effect it is having on the business sector.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of light and good health, happiness, productivity and employment will be added" he told the Mahama-led administration.
