Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency in Kumasi on Thursday filed his nomination papers at the office of the Constituency to contest under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 elections.
This is the fifth time the incumbent is standing as a Parliamentary Candidate under the ticket of the party.
Speaking to newsmen after the submission of the nomination papers, Mr Mensah-Bonsu said, he is still confident and capable to contest the elections.
He appealed to the party executives, polling agents and the people in the area to rally behind him and give him the nod in the forthcoming primaries of the party scheduled for June 13.
The MP, who is also the Minority Leader of Parliament, however warned his opponents who are maligning him to change and conduct their campaigns without maliciously attacking their opponents.
