Deputy Minority leader, Dominic Nitiwul says some national and regional party leaders of the NPP must leave their job following an acidic bath leading to the death of the party’s Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.
He accused the leadership of negligence for allowing such an incident to hit the party – “this does not speak well of the party”.
“If people have conscience they should be resigning; we have already sacrificed Adams and we should not allow anyone to die again,” he noted.
Adding that, “How can a human being commit such a callous and hideous crime against a man who has dedicated all his life to the NPP? I’m still in shock”.
He was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday after the death of Adams whom he described as a brother.
The lawmaker however said the Afoko-led National executives should bow down their heads in shame since his younger brother has been fingered as one of the perpetuators who harmed and killed Adams Mahama.
How Adams Mahama met his untimely death
Two men poured acid on Adams Mahama when he was returning from his construction site late in the night.
According to Adama Mahama’s aide, Zakariah Osman, the NPP chairman was in his car when he was stopped by two unidentified persons, and in an attempt to inquire the reason why he was stopped, they poured the substance on him.
The regional chairman was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital where he lost his life Thursday morning.
