An aspiring Member of Parliament for the Korle Klottey constituency, Philip Addison, has taken on the incumbent member for the area, describing him as a “silent MP” who does not have the interest of the people at heart.

He said the constituency under the leadership of Nii Armah Ashitey has seen little in terms of development, a situation he noted, is impacting negatively on the living standards of the people.

“We have an MP in this constituency nobody sees him…nobody hears from him. He is a silent MP. There are quite a lot of issues in this constituency which needs tackling like the floods. I have not heard from the MP. I haven’t even heard from him in Parliament.

“In Parliament there were statements made by MPs. Our MP should have been the first to make a statement on the issue but he didn’t talk,” Lawyer Addison said in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.

When asked by Banson if Mr. Ashietey Armah’s silence is enough to get him out of Parliament, Addison said “he belongs to another party so they will deal with that but when it comes to the general election; certainly, I think that he has not done enough for this constituency”.

Mr. Addison is hoping to contest the Korle Klottey Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NPP but has to see off competition from Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, a former constituency chairman and Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah, a two-time parliamentary aspirant of the party.
