When it comes to partisan politics, the Communications Officer of the governing National Democratic Congress believes there is nothing good that can come from the Ashanti Region.

The region is believed to be the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party and according to Mr. Solomon Nkansah, had it not been for the Asantehene’s reverential respect, others would have little respect for people in the area.

His reason for passing the above comment stems from the series of demonstration staged in the region against government.

Latest to prick him most is the decision by some grannies and grandpas from the area to stage ‘Merewafo resu’ demonstration today.

During Peace FMs’ midday news today, a tape of Mr. Nkansah was played and he was heard lamenting about our grannies decision to take to the street to demonstrate rather than channelling that energy into prayers.

“I would have wished our older folks would have spent time praying for the nation instead of taking to the streets to demonstrate. We are in the raining season and they should have been praying unto God to avert some of the disasters. If an old lady cries during prayer sessions, the Lord listens.”

“Every shameless act related to politics comes from the Ashanti Region. They have gained more notoriety when it comes to politics. Every ill-fated political demonstration is coming from them and nothing good seems to come from the region.

Hadn’t not been for their recognised and well respected king, they would have been insulted all the time”, he said.
