Ghana’s former President John Evans Atta Mills died from hemorrhagic stroke, his younger brother, Dr. Cadman Mills, has stated.
This is the second time his brother has publicly revealed what led to Professor Mills’ demise.
Dr. Cadman explained in an interview yesterday that his brother fell and bled until he died.
Recounting what he said was a sudden death, Dr. Cadman said the autopsy report conducted on his brother showed he died from the stroke, adding the family had all along, known the immediate cause.
“He fell and bled. It was what we later found out to be hemorrhagic stroke,” he said.
Dr. Cadman, who is prof. Mills’ younger brother by some 19 months said he identified with calls made for the cause of the latter’s death to be made public, but insisted “it has always been known.”
“We were taken aback by some of the stupid claims by people who said they knew the cause of his death. He was not poisoned as has been suggested,” he added.
Hemorrhagic stroke accounts for about 13 per cent of stroke cases, according to the Stroke Association of America.
It results from a weakened vessel that ruptures and bleeds into the surrounding brain. The blood accumulates and compresses the surrounding brain tissue.

" Dr. Cadman explained in an interview yesterday that his brother fell and bled until he died" Fell and bled until he died. where were the people who were supposed to take care of him when he fell and was bleeding? Remember he was the President and so at any material time his medical team should be on hand to attend to him. How come he had to be taken to the 37 Military hospital not even in an ambulance. And the subsequent events that followed at the 37 Military hospital. These are the matters that needs investigating not the lies his selfish brother are making us believe. The truth, no matter long it tarries will one day come out and those of us who believe our brother was sacrificed on the alter of political expediency will be vindicated. Adzepa nkye hen monua.
