DAILY GUIDE has gathered that popular radio and television personality, Seth Kwame Dzokoto might contest in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency.
The paper learnt that posters of Dzokoto had been pasted in various parts of the mining town of Tarkwa.
The posters, which are circulating on social media, are full of errors.
According to reports, the posters of the wannabe MP were designed by overzealous supporters who wrongly
spelt the words-parliamentary and candidate.
Dzokoto is likely to face stiff opposition from some other party activists who have also expressed their intention of contesting in the race.
Notable among the contenders is the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive, Christina Cobbinah, who contested in the last parliamentary election but lost to Gifty Kusi of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Kwame Dzokoto, host of popular TV programme, “Edziban” is currently the Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the NDC in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency.
Kwame Dzokoto, who also features in a TV3 drama series ‘Efiawura’ started his career at Tarkwa as a presenter on Tarkwa-based Dynamite FM.
He later joined Skyy Power Fm in Takoradi and hosted the radio station’s mid morning show “Odam Sokoo”
Many listeners in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis tuned into the radio station due to his dexterity.
The presenter, who was affectionately called Efiawura Kwame Dzokoto in Takoradi, became extremely popular in the metropolis to the extent that he moderated every public function there.
After working with Skyy Power FM for some years, Kwame Dzokoto joined Hello FM in Kumasi.
He currently works in the Greater Accra Region.
Some NDC supporters said Kwame Dzokoto would win the primaries because the MCE had failed to capture the seat from the NPP on two occasions.
