Ibrahim Mahama, Businessman and brother of Ghana’s president, John Mahama, has returned all state assets he took months ago for a ‘voluntary’ dredging exercise of the Odaw River.
The items returned include some 20 Man Tipper trucks, 4 Komatsu dozers, 3 Komatsu excavators, 3 Komatsu wheel dozers and 2 HBM NOBAS motor graders.
Mahama’s company, Engineers and Planners, months ago got the equipment, to dredge the choked Odaw, which was seen as one of the factors responsible for the June 3 flood and fire disaster that claimed over 150 lives.
The company had argued that they did no wrong by using state equipment, insisting they brought in their workforce free of charge for an exercise they thought was useful.
That argument was shot down by persons who thought otherwise.
