A former Black Stars player, Justice Boison, has laced his political boots in readiness to contest the Cape Coast North constituency seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The ex-Cape Coast Venomous Vipers, Sekondi Hasaacas and Ebusua Dwarfs stalwart defender, popularly known in football circles as “Ala”, is determined to use his rich background to promote sports and bring hope to the youth in the consitituency.

Sharing his vision with the Daily Graphic, Mr Boison who currently holds an Executive MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School said, as an aspiring MP in 2012, he had been able to identify and diagnose the problems of the Cape Coast North constituency, hence his resolve to get into the legislature this time around to represent the people.

He, therefore, expressed his readiness to continue with his scholarship schemes to help more young people to gain admission into tertiary institutions.

That, he explained, was the only way the youth in the area could be self-sufficient to work and improve their livelihood.

“I have been a footballer and have played in the Ghanaian league for several years but I have improved myself and progressed on the educational ladder up to the tertiary level and I think other sports personalities can look up to me as a role model”, he stressed.

Mr Boison, who earned a call-up to the senior national team when the team was reconstituted after the Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal in 1992, also had a professional stint with Dynamo Bucharest in Romania.

Boison has since filed his nomination to contest the primary slated for November 7.
