Beleaguered NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko is seeking the High Court for clarification, hours after he was suspended by leadership of the party.

Paul Awentami Afoko has been suspended indefinitely as the National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party - the decision was taken on Friday at an emergency National Executive Committee meeting at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.

The decision to suspend Mr. Afoko was unanimously taken by NEC members present.

A statement signed by the party’s Communication Director, Nana Akomea reads – “On the 21st October, 2015, the National Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party submitted a report to the Executive Committee of the NPP; recommending the indefinite suspension of Mr. Paul Afoko as National Chairman.

“…At its meeting today, Friday 23 October, 2015, the National Executive Committee unanimously endorsed the recommendation of the National Disciplinary Committee”

The party by their constitution elected Party’s first chairman, Freddie Blay as acting national chairman of the ‘Elephant’ fraternity.

However, Mr. Afoko’s writ to the party is captioned – “Motion on notice. Application for interlocutory injunction order pursuant to order 25 CI 47”
