Suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Awentami Afoko has been spotted inside the auditorium of the Alisa Hotel, where the much-awaited forum on the voters' register is being held.
General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Agyei Agyepong had told TV3 on Thursday, October 29 that Mr Afoko will be at the venue as chairman of the NPP.
The Director of Communications of the party, Nana Akomea, last week issued a statement, announcing the suspension of Mr Afoko from his position indefinitely. Mr Afoko has, however, described as illegal the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting that suspended him.
He had declared himself still at post and even issued a statement last Tuesday to congratulate re-elected Ivorian leader Alassane Ouattara.
He has also given indications of challenging the NEC decision in court. Speaking to our correspondent ahead of the forum, Mr Agyepong minced no words about Afoko making a presence at the forum.
Afoko is among the accredited audience at the venue.
