The former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Obetsebi Lamptey has sent a stern message to his detractors wishing him dead to ‘get a life’.
His comment comes on the back of rumours that he had passed away.
Speaking in an interview on PEACE FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Jake said he is alive and asked those spreading the rumours to ‘get a life’.
“To the mischief makers; the people who without a shred of truth come and start pushing out all sorts of lies and rumours and build up stories to distract people from legitimate pursuits I say; you are just distractive, you are not helping anybody…get a life; start doing something more useful. But I am well,” he said.
Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey wondered why “people go out of their way to manufacture idiotic stories when there are so many serious stories that concern our country that are going on that people should be concerned with…it shows futility of what goes on on social media unfortunately.”
He spoke in an interview from South Africa with sit in host of 'kokrokoo', Nana Yaw Kesse, Thursday morning after rumours went viral on Social Media previous night that he had passed away.
NPP's former General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka Sir John had earlier denied the rumour on Hello FM, Wednesday evening.
