NDC’s Koku Anyidoho has said his party is not troubled by the ‘Baamu Yada’ demonstration organized by pro-NPP pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) in Kumasi.
Speaking on Accra-based Atinka FM, the NDC’s deputy chief scribe was emphatic that the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity is not perturbed “a bit” by what he described as the decoration which was led by NPP’s running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The protest was staged by the pressure group to call on the Electoral Commission the need to provide a new voters’ register ahead of the November polls.
But the NDC's Deputy General Secretary believed the opposition party should have rather used the opportunity to campaign for the upcoming election just as the ruling party is doing, instead of staging a needless demonstration.
‘Baamu Yadda’ which means “we will not agree,” attracted thousands of Ghanaians who want the EC to validate the voters’ register for the November polls as proposed by the Justice VCRAC Crabbe panel.
