Some diehard supporters of the New Patriotic Party are marshalling plans to thwart plots by some executives of the National Democratic Congress to frustrate certain influential members in their party.
Coalition of Ashanti Youth, a group made up of NPP members is alleging that the ruling NDC could no longer stand the heat emitting from some firebrands within their party especially the Ashanti Regional Chairman of their party, and for this reason, are planning “series of strategies to frustrate and further cook up story to arrest” them.
Below is a copy of their statement
WE SHALL RESIST ANY ATTEMPT FROM THE NDC TO FRUSTRATE CHAIRMAN WONTUMI
In the wake of our general elections in November, the NDC in its desperate quest to retain power and continually govern Ghana under a state of no hope are mapping out a lot of wicked and unpopular strategies to frustrate the vibrant frontrunners of the NPP.
Amongst the list of people they have targeted per our reliable sources is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman ‘Wontumi’.
We are reliably informed that the NDC has planned series of strategies to frustrate and further cook up story to arrest the persons within the NPP who are seen as a treat to their desperate wish to retain power.
Per our investigation as a group, we understand the NDC is making Chairman Wontumi their topmost target, this is due to his advent call on the Electoral Commission to renew voters register, which they see as a disadvantage to their course.
We are reliable informed that the NDC held a meeting at the ‘Plantation Lodge’ in Takoradi to bring up this wicked plans.
But, as youth group, party faithful, sympathizers of the NPP and Chairman Wontumi we wish to state it clearly that we shall not allow this inhumane and wicked plans to unsettle the frontrunners of our party.
We further dare the NDC to make any of such attempt and we promise them that, they will witness a stronger resistance and a real battle from us. We wish to dare to try any nasty attempt and we shall turn them around.
Coalition of Ashanti Youth, NPP.
