The Founder and flagbearer of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Akwesi Addae-Odike has revealed that he is willing to partner any of the opposition parties especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to form an alliance aimed at ending the reelection bid of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, President Mahama’s management of the economy has plunged it into a complete mess calling for a change in government when Ghanaians go to the polls on November 7.

“The economy is not doing well. We must work towards changing government and putting the economy back on track”, he said.

Speaking on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, the businessman turn politician indicated that his party’s resolve was to form the new government in 2017 but will be more than prepared to join forces with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to realize this dream.

He indicated that President John Agyekum Kufuor relied on the great alliance to win the 2000 elections reiterating the need for collaborative efforts in kicking out the Mahama led government.

“I am ready to partner the NPP to win the 2016 elections. If they come and want us to form alliance why not”, he asked.

Odike is however optimistic that the UPP has what it takes to win the elections and can transform the economy to the admiration of the Ghanaians.
