The New Patriotic Party has entered into the limited registration exercise with their eyes wide open.
With the issue of IDs being backdated on the first day of the exercise in some registrations centers in the Ashanti Region, executives in the region have taken pragmatic steps to stopgap the variance by drawing the attention of EC officials.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako believes the Chairperson for the EC, Madam Charlotte Osei is leaving enough traces of her love for the NDC in whatever she does.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman ‘Wontumi’ noted that “for the EC to choose the Ashanti Region where we recorded issues of backdating tells you how prepared Charlotte Osei is ready to do the bidding of President Mahama”.
“Ashanti Region is the heart of the NPP and the NDC know they can’t win more votes here. They are only using Charlotte Osei’s Commission which was supposed to be an Electoral Commission to do dirty works”.
The EC’s bid to fulfill its promise of becoming the most credible electoral regulatory body in Africa, hit a snag with the limited voter registration exercise being held nationwide.
Outcomes from today’s exercise in the Ashanti Region proves the EC has failed to score a good mark in the region as several participants who registered in today’s exercise received Voter IDs that are backdated.
Several individuals including Opoku Aboagye James, were today awarded IDs by EC officials in the Atwima-Kwanwoma Consistency that had the date of registration wrongly indicated.
And it is on this note that Chairman ‘Wontumi’ insists the Chairperson for the EC is introducing satanic actives that may anger some people to disturb the peace of Ghana.
He ended by telling the Madam Charlotte Osei to “stop the satanic backdating activities”.
