The Communications Minister says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a lot in store for nurses, nursing students and graduate nurses as there is an employment opportunity for some 12,000 people when the party wins the December elections.
Dr Omane Boamah said a project to add some 6,000-beds to hospitals and polyclinics across the country from 2017 by the NDC government would guarantee the above-listed jobs.
There has been a lot of complaints by nursing school graduates who say they have been unemployed after school.
Some are quick to travel abroad where they say their services are much needed because of unemployment in Ghana. Also, they claim they are well paid abroad.
Some nurses have picketed at the Health Ministry in the last few weeks in protest to either not being posted after they graduated or received their salaries for a long time.
Speaking on Health and Education at the manifesto launch of the NDC’s manifesto in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region, Dr Boamah said President Mahama is determined to do more in the two sectors.

NDC LIARS !!!!!!!!OH !!!!!!!!Omaane Boama because of politics you have reduced your self ; your profession and family to join this thiffs and bandits ; why are you lying to Ghanaians again ; the truth is that the NDC cannot employ such number of nurses ; because of the agreement under the IMF programme which is in limbo now ; your government have been instructed to deploy people and cut to the bone the number of people to be employed besides you are stuck financially because you did not get approval from parliament for your loan agreement with parliament and now finding it difficult to even pay or borrow ; so why do you lie to these nurses ; these nurses will never vote for you ; you got so many nurses and mid wives sitting are home but plans to train more ; ARE YOU CRAZY !!!!!!!!
Babies with sharp teeth think Ghanaians don't have brain right!!!! What prevented you from employing them now... ndc party with their mischief... keep dreaming, the wise Ghanaians will never fall into your trap again.. the wise Ghanaian are the majority...
I dont believe anything this NDC people say.. Promise. Promise.. Promise and FAIL
NDC is a garrbage party. I will join the millions of Ghanaians who will say a big "NO" to NDC. Mahama/NDC have had more resources to make Ghana better but have failed to help us. People are jobless, food and rent are expensive, we are not getting what we deserve after 8 years of NDC. 12 years is too much for one party to take us for granted. Rawlings used 19years and when he was going we were HIPC. We cannot let bad people stay in government for more than 8 years. Mahama and NDC must go to opposition and have a new look at things from there. Vote for Change to make Ghana better. 8 years of NDC is enough. It is time for change.
NPP will do that not NDC, bcos why wait till 2017. again why are you saying this after all these years that we have been unemployed. make those documents ready if you truly have them and Nana Addo will implement, after all governance is about continuity
Don't take us for granted pls. And so what Mr. Minister? We will u out in 2016,. Change is coming. We will not be ***barred word*** twice
OMANI BOAMAH, YOU NDC GUYS THINK ALL GHANAIANS ARE GULLIBLE!! HOW SAD!! HMMMMMMM
Omane Boamah is suffering from kpokpogbligbli so he talks anyhow anytime he gets the attack. I feel sorry for his parents for wasting time and money on him to become a monster. Every parent want to see his/her son being loved by all when especially much money has been invested in him but little did they know they were investing their hard earned money in a monster. Propaganda doesn't need that education of a medical doctor, but here we are in ndc world where a medical doctor is a propaganda in chief. I'm sorry for those parents, mo abre agu because ndc politician doesn't need that qualification, all you need is loud mouth and skilled in insults so for a parent to waste money on your son to be a doctor and to become an ndc serial propaganda in chief is something sorrowful.
