Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr says critics of the Mahama-led administration who denigrate the achievements of the government are “kicking against the rock with their bare feet”.
According to him, opponents of the 2016 Presidential candidate who criticize Mahama on that score - tends to destroy their own credibility as the average Ghanaian cannot be taken for granted per their judgment on the real development ongoing in the economy now.
Speaking on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji programme Saturday, Mr. Pratt said “…those who argue that nothing has happened are like those who are kicking against the rock with their bare feet and in the final analysis it is not the rock that gets destroyed, but their own feet which gets destroyed”.
The largest opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) has said that Mahama is playing his trump card wrongly to bid for a re-election in the December polls, as Ghana’s frail economy and the development gaps are the only results of his stewardship for the past four years.
“Are people better off as you promised? Are businesses doing well? Have you improved the quality of delivery of public services? Have you strengthened the institutions of state and deepened democratic governance? Have you improved the management of the economy and public finances? Have you tackled corruption and waste in public expenditure?" the NPP questioned at a recent Press conference held in the capital- Accra.
According to the NPP, these were the benchmarks by which Ghanaians would measure President Mahama’s performance and the NDC government at large and not what it described as the phantom achievements outlined in the Green book and its promises in the 2016 manifesto.
However, in the view of Mr Pratt, the propaganda set to discredit Mahama’s government and the successes it has chalked in terms of development in the last four years will not stand.
“I think that we have to be honest in our politics to acknowledge when things have happened and to criticize when we think that things are wrong.
“…People who travel through Adomi to Ho know that that bridge has been rehabilitated. People who use the Tamale Airport know what it is now. People who use the Kumasi Airport know what is now. People in Ho see the new Airport which is being constructed. People in Wa see the new regional hospital and so to argue that nothing is being done is simply to destroy your own credibility.”

Has Prattle ever spoken for the CPP? Is that not his party? Wonders will never end!!
Truth, indeed hurts.....hmmmmm
Massa Kwesi please come out boldly and declare you are NDC. Nobody will kill you for that.
Hmm. Leave dis hypocritical Kwasi Pratt. Alone NDC special communicator
Pratt is disgracing himself now. you've now turned into the spokesman of Mahama... you mean you can't feel the hardship in the country. posterity will judge you all.
I will will not and i can't criticise the government if he had offered me a v8,stomach journalist, it is time for you to go to Iraq and Afghanistan to publish news for aljazeera as you call your self senior journalist.
Pratt and his ilk think they are smart. Why do they always talk about infrastructural developments in isolation? Why can't they simply relate these so-called massive developments to economic well being of the ordinary man? Roads, hospitals, schools are not constructed for their own sakes. These developments must translate into real economic terms - like GDP growth, currency stabilization, employment generation, inflation reduction etc etc. If you build a thousand roads and they cannot impact economic growth, your work done is negative. Period.
Mr. Prat (deliberate spelling). I wonder whether you really have a feel for the hardship that Ghanaians are going through. You have clearly benefited from this Government in more ways than one. I feel sorry for people like you, who have ***barred word*** the masses to such a point that you have no values anymore.
Masa you can say what ever you like
Achievement at what cost? Didn't the NPP renovate any bridges? Kwesi Pratt is always shifting the goal post. NPP has not said any thing has not been done. NPP says there is no value for money since sole sourcing has been the order of the day. Given the quantum of money received by this NDC government, Ghanaians should be better off today. These people have created, looted and share and the corrupt people found guilty by law are walking free.
