Former Minister of Education, Youth and Sports under President Kufuor’s regime, Nana Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has stated that President John Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) lack vision, ideas and knowledge to transform Ghana.
According to him, leadership is not about youthfulness but rather knowledge, wisdom and experience. He therefore, entreated all Ghanaians to vote out the NDC government and bring in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to turn the fortunes of Ghana’s economy round.
Mr. Osafo-Maafo, addressing a mammoth rally at the campaign launch of Gifty Twum Ampofo, the Abuakwa North Member of Parliament (MP) at Akyem Osiem in the Eastern Region, claimed, “For citizens to live up to standard, it requires a visionary person with a lot of experience to govern the nation.”
He noted that Ghanaians have experienced untold hardships under President Mahama’s NDC government. He stressed that this is the time to mobilize citizens of Abuakwa North to vote for the current MP and the presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in the December polls.
Mr Osafo-Maafo, who was once a finance minister, emphasized that there had been numerous criticisms about Nana Addo that he is old, noting that those remarks would not transform the country’s economy that Mahama and his NDC government have messed up.
Chairman of the Eastern Regional Council of Elders of the NPP noted that Nana Addo is not just a mature person, but a patriotic man who has the country’s problems at heart and is therefore, ready to save the country from the incompetent NDC government.
He further noted that there are 76 universities in the country and that all these institutions produce graduates every year who become a burden on society because Mahama and his government had made no effort to create jobs in the country for them.
He appealed to the Inspector General of Police to talk to his men to exhibit professionalism in the line of duty and refrain from unnecessary shootings that may cause fear and panic among the electorate and prevent them from exercising their franchise on December 7.
Nana Osafo-Marfo urged the National Peace Council to advise the Electoral Commission to help sustain the country’s peace by ensuring that the right thing is done. He noted that peace cannot prevail if there is no Justice.

It's my prayer that Nana Win's, becs we are suffering.we need change
I think he's wrong. You can't just stand up and speak against God's ordained leadership.
For NPP regime I release Ghana is in HIPC so we want that to happened again so Ghanaian let forget about these two party NDC and NPP and think about PPP!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Osarfo what did you NPP do for ghanaians under your regime ? Progressively ghana is transforming so you people should allow ghanaians because you have nothing for ghanaians . Nana Addo will continue to be a private president in ghana!! JM Toaso !!!!!
When NPP was in power for eight years did they turn Ghana into paradise? We know the big hotels and houses the NPP party members bought for themselves, the old currency was deliberately changed ostensibly to appreciate its value against the dollar but in the end the old CEDI's ended up in the pockets of government officials meanwhile you couldn't account to Ghanaians how much you spent on the redenomination. We are wise so leave us to decide which party to vote for we can trust you.
Please look at the situation in Ghana and vote positively. Ghana needs change.
Indeed, let's save the insults and concentrate on the thumbs power. Meanwhile, come 7Dec., Nana Addo all the way to the Flagstaff House.
Am sorry for Ghanians, you don't want to learn from Nigeria's experience, the same tin dt is happening to nigeria will happen to u nd even worse if u dont take care.learn from our mistake, THE DEVIL U KNOW IS BETTER THAN D ANGEL U DONT KNOW.BE WARNED.
Mr Asafo marfo, u said Ghana is not youthfulness. But we're tired of of this old politicians deceiving us u people shld leave ur post to give the youth chance to transform the country
It's only a shallow minded people who don't see that it is possible for Ghana to change positively and quickly. Only if Nana can stop people from stealing as much as mahama and his people are doing then more than expected can be done.
