The presence of Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur in the Akuapem North Constituency of the Eastern Region over the weekend apparently did not enthuse the constituents who welcomed him in deafening unison, “We want change.”
The vice president was on the Akuapem Ridge as a special guest of honour for the grand durbar and fun raising ceremony that climaxed the annual Odwira Festival of the chiefs and people of Larteh.
The spontaneous “We want change” mantra of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was led by the Loyal Ladies of the NPP, a group within the party’s youth wing, and a cross-section of Larteh citizens.
The incident was said to have overwhelmed the second gentleman of the land and his entourage.
The serene town of Larteh came alive when the Loyal Ladies’ campaign hit the town with support from some NPP street campaigners.
The young ladies defied a downpour and chanted “we want change” to the admiration of onlookers. Not even the presence of the security agents could deter the highly charged ladies of the party.
The clarion call for change attracted remarks from the veep when he later addressed the gathering of chiefs and the people.
Mr Amissah-Arthur’s address focused on the occurrence.
He said though the country was in a political season, he never expected that action since he was not invited for a political programme. The parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the constituency, Nana Ama Dokua, who graced the occasion, reiterated the change mantra and demanded free and fair elections slated for December 7.
She donated GH¢10,000 during the fundraising segment of the grand durbar.
Members of another group, Mahama Ladies, who were seen following the bus that was conveying the Loyal Ladies, asked to be allowed to join the NPP campaign.
They then requested some T-shirts. In the full glare of passers-by, the Mahama Ladies reportedly changed into Loyal Ladies’ T-shirts and joined the campaign trail.

you mean the voice of people is the voice of God, then the people voice out that Mahama is the president period. Your antics can win you power, that is what happend in 2012 and still lose the election me I don't like Mahama but for Akofo addo will will lose because my vote will not be count for akofo addo
The voice of the ppl is the voice of God. Certainly not the voice of Npp supporters. It takes more than your party members loving to win elections. You need one who has a national appeal and a bit of charisma. Nana lacks that. Dont for once think just by chanting "we want change" then that is it. We the silent majority are only watching with our eyes and we will give Mahama a resounding victory, one that cannot be contended anywhere in the world. The same way your are enthusiastic now we hope you remain so and accept your defeat when it is announced on the 9th. One Ghana One People!
the voice of the ple is the voice of God. change you will have my ple sayeth the Lord.
one and half regions. It's one of the one and half regions so NPP supporters organized this barba.ric taunting. The Veep is nice to have gone to that area, indicating he is for everybody irrespective of an affiliate. Good job, Veep.
antoine. U ***barred word*** bigtime. as if when nana come, u will get some of the money NPP is killing people to come steal. Question. how much did u get when they came?? what u need is to think.
anyone criticizing the daily guide is either feeble minded or has a very low IQ. Your mahama collects bribes on a daily basis and the ndc is full of wretched pathetic punks who are using tax payer's money to enrich themselves. you will all suffer in opposition when nana comes to power. all of you mo th er fu ckers.
Hahahahah NPP is confused. The change will happen in the NPP party when the NDC finally retires Nana Addo come Dec 7 2016.
There is an insurmountable call for change, and nothing can stop it.
I believe it
hahahahahaha. Daily Guide never ceases to amaze me. So who will believe this story?
