President John Mahama says the government is committed to social democracy and equitable distribution of the national cake.

The President was speaking at the closing ceremony of the two-day Socialist International Africa Committee meeting in Accra.

President Mahama, said the unwavering commitment to the core values of socialism is evidenced in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto.

The Socialist International Africa Committee is an organisation of social democratic, socialist and labour parties of which the NDC is part.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Socialist International Africa Committee, Luis Ayala, has commended President Mahama for his astuteness and style of leadership.

He says the world is fascinated by Ghana's modest gains under the President's rule and it is enviable.

Mr. Ayala, made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the two-day Socialist International Africa Committee meeting in Accra.
