Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has slated the NPP Parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West, George Andah for comments deemed discriminatory against his competitor, Hannah Tetteh.
George Andah, addressing some NPP faithfuls in the constituencies, reportedly took the campaign podium accompanied by his wife and dared Hon. Hannah Tetteh to "produce" her husband.
Speaking on "Alhaji and Alhaji" on Radio Gold, Mr. Pratt slammed George Andah for demeaning the integrity of "divorced" women in the country.
To him, Mr. Andah's comments are disgusting and a high level of indiscretion.
"Are we saying that women who are divorced are hopeless and cannot participate in national politics? Are we saying that women who are divorced have no right as citizens to take part in our political (you know) enterprises and so on? Is that what we're saying? Are we going to discriminate against divorcees?" he questioned Mr. Andah's logic.
Mr. Pratt further called on all political figures and the nation at large to respect the rights of women, particularly those in Ghana's politics.
"I'm so (so) disgusted. Now, let us even assume that she's never married before and has no children. Are we not even learning from what is happening around the world...Are we saying that marriage is the yardstick for determining the contribution of women? Why should women be linked to men for them to get gravitas in anything? So, if a woman is not married; she's useless?"
He had a word of advice for Mr. Andah, saying "You can attack Madam Hannah Tetteh. You can disagree with her. You can argue that she has done nothing for her constituency. You can say that her vision for the constituency is narrowed and so on. But to attack her that she cannot produce a husband, I think is to get into the gutter [deep, deep] deep into the sewer. I feel shocked and sad. And you know why I feel so bad? Because I have a lot of respect for this gentleman called George Andah...I'm so shocked that this fine gentleman has sunk to this level."

why do Ghanaians pay attention to stomach politians like Mr Pratt who does the bidding for the ruling Ndc. share hypocrisy
George this statement is going to cause you. please are you telling us that you will reject all votes from those who don't have husbands or can not produce their husbands.God have meercy.
UNCLE KWESI THIS ONE , YOU ARE RIGHT, MR ANDAH, THE CLIP WAS DISGUSTING PLEASE THROW AWAY PRIDE AND APOLOGIES TO HON. HANNAH TETTEH, AND THAT WILL MAKE YOU A STRONG MAN AND A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THAT MATTER.WE DON'T HAVE DISCRIMINATE IN OUR BODY POLITICS
What about adwoa sarfo of npp two kids with a wedded husband. not married, only idioootic minds will not agree with kwasi pratt. if a lady is divorced it is bad for ndc but good for npp. common sense is not common to the likes of educated fuuls like andah and the rest of shallow minded npp supporters. should look for a better campaign message. how many single mothers are in ghana and are members of npp. the fuuls are it again because ghana will never progress when the idioots are given the chance
Asking someone to show her husband too is now a sin.if you want to do politics we have to know somethings about you. This woman is now a lesbian look at how she dresses no ear rings that is how lesbians dress. we have vice president who is gaay and this woman who is also a lesbian. All we have is ***barred word*** people running ghana how can ghana move on. If what he said to her is that bad, then this year's American election has to be called off because what they have Said to each other, we have not said even one.
Mass you are disgrace to Ghana politics
Kwesi , you lost my respect over a decade ago. You are not objective in your political analyses.
Hannah Tetteh came to Japan in 2013 and wanted to know "who will want an old man as a president?". She had forgotten that she followed an old man (Prof. Mills) to Japan as a Minister of Trade and Industry. Let us be bold to condemn all who insult and not to be selctive in our judgements. If it is wrong, then it is wrong irrespective of who voices it out.
You lost respect to a man who you think insulted Hannah Tetteh but don't feel sorry when Nana Akuffo Addo is being insulted. You think you carry wait but nobody have any respect for you so stop dreaming. You "re dishonest man full of inconsistencies so don't think peoples respect you,Apuuu, hypocrites like you.
Hahaa. Kwesi. Losing Respect for others does not undo them, Else by now you cannot even come on radio because of the number of people who have lost respect for you. This is how it is, Insults no matter who you are is painful. It is the same pain that Akufo Addo feels when the Vice President and Ministers of States thinks he is too short and cannot be president and Kwesi does not see that one. It is the same pain when you describe an active man as old man and cannot be a president. It is the same pain when Hannah Tetteh and team describes Andah as an irresponsible man when he dutifully takes care of his children. If it is not hypocrisy and dirty politics, Kwesi and his likes should by now be on the streets campaigning against well orchestrated tribalism being championed by the NDC in Ghana just for power. As your vice president said, one insult, get two free and you will feel how it is. If you know you are not clean dont take others to the cleaners because you will be sent there at the time you least expect., We are all human beings, do unto others what you expect them to do to you.
