The Central Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has moved to defend its parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West, George Andah, following his recent challenge to Hanna Tetteh to show her husband to constituents.
Mr. Andah at a mini rally held at Bawjiase in the Central Region last week, challenged the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hanna Tetteh, to show her husband to the constituents.
“I came here with my wife, and children. Please tell Hanna to also come and show us her husband,” Mr. Andah said.
Many have taken to social media to describe his action as chauvinist, and an insult to unmarried women seeking political office. But the regional executives of the NPP say George Andah cannot be faulted for the comments as Hanna Tetteh was the first to launch an attack on Mr. Andah. Richard Takyi, the NPP’s Central Regional Communications Director told Citi News George Andah’s comment was “charitable”.
“In the first place, it was Hanna Tetteh who accused George Andah wrongly, calling him an irresponsible man and accused him of being a womanizer without any basis. In my view, George Andah gave Hanna Tetteh a fair response. He was even charitable with Hanna Tetteh,” he added.
Andah’s attack on Hanna Tetteh’s marital status primitive – NDC Meanwhile, the Central Regional Secretariat of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has in a strongly worded statement condemned what it calls “retrogressive” and “primitive” the attack on the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West constituency, Hanna Tetteh.
The NDC said it will “never condone any irresponsible comment against single mothers, unmarried women or career women who are in politics to advance the cause of women and children.”

Birds of the same feathers flock together. A rude word is a rude word no matter where it comes from.
hmmmm, but this lady had a husband and children. i personally know them in cape coast. Her husband is a successful medical doctor in cape coast, but not aware if they are divorced now. i attended the same institution with her daughter
***barred word*** peoples party why wont they support that ***barred word*** talk by a ***barred word*** person who is confused in the mind that party is a party dat say anything and do anything irtrespective of de outcome dat is why my pastor refare to dem as bad company
Hannah Tetteh deserves more than what Mr Andah gave her. These fo*ls in the ndc think they are more important than anyone in Ghana. They behave like people with no self esteem but want identity. Respect is earned not bought or forced so ndc should respect themselves and live decent lives for people to accord them the respect they so love. When ndc footsoldiers were insulting Ursula Arkuful that was fine with the ndc but when Hannah Tetteh gives and take it back ndc are behaving like they never heard of such a thing before. Me Andah waka, waka Ursula is now married so Hannah Tetteh bring your husband too? NDC are full of unmarried women with their men too womanizing. Akohwe bra.
will npp be charitable with hon.adwoa sarfo who had children with somebody's husband. a daughter of so called apostle and man of god
de same people saw nothing wrong when dey were calling ursula with names of ***barred word*** and others because she was a single mother, hypocrite indeed.
Why does the ndc think it is the only people with the right to insult others. The ndc party should know that there's blood in everyone's mouth but yet we stop to spit saliva.
how can She call a married man irresponsible and a ***barred word***, did she wants to destroy his marriage? Ms Hannah next time control your diarrhea mouth.
The hypocrisy of the NDC is nauseating to say the least. All those NDC people shouting on roof tops and barking at Andah lost their voices when Allidu, a presidential staffer called very responsible ladies who were demonstrating against "dumsor" as prostitutes. Ghana have seen through the hypocrisy and will punish you severely this time. Give us a break.
Hannah please stop your ***barred word*** supporters from embarrassing you further cos you have too many skeletons in your closet. Remember your university days and promiscuity.
