The Chief of Staff Mr Julius Debrah has ended his five day intensive campaign tour of the Eastern Region, happy and grateful to the Chiefs and People for the overwhelming support and endorsement they have given to President John Dramani Mahama.
From Nsawam, Suhum, Adeiso, Kwahu, Akyem through Fanteakwa, Tafo and Juabeng the Chiefs were defiant as they proclaimed the great achievements of President Mahama for which reason he should be re-elected to 'toaso'.
The cheers of the people were wild and the appellations of the linguists were emphatic. Their minds were clear as their mouths confessed, everywhere the Chief of Staff went, that President Mahama has delivered the level of development never seen in the country since Dr Kwame Nkrumah was President of Ghana.
Various sections of the people of the region turned out massively to express their support as never before seen. It is an understatement to say that the tectonic plates of party support in the Eastern Region have shifted immensely in favour of the National Democratic Congress in this election, particularly because of the sterling performance of President Mahama in the last four years of his tenure as President of the Republic of Ghana.
But the Chief of Staff was not complacent as he campaigned to them. He took the occasion to thank the people for the support and emphasised the need for them to come out in their numbers on the day of election to ensure a resounding victory for President Mahama, as that is the only way to ensure that his good works can be continued. He also used this tour to announce the 'Eastern Business Booster' plan of the government which is part of President Mahama's 'National Business Booster' agenda for his next term of office.
It is an agenda to propel small and medium scale businesses across Ghana through liquidity support for capital operating expenditures. He made clear that this is to boost local entrepreneurship, enhance the competitive edge of our local businesses and create jobs for the teeming youth.
During the tour, the Regional Minister, her team and officers of the National Democratic Congress in the region seamlessly deployed their personnel and organised the venues. Their team work and dedication to the agenda 50/50 unravelled impeccably.
Founding members of the National Democratic Congress namely Professor Kwamena Ahwoi and Madam Faustina Nelson were on hand to provide support to the Chief of Staff with speeches at various venues also whiles key National Officers of the government and the NDC such as Deputy Communications Minister Hon Ato Sarpong, General Secretary Mr Korku Anyidoho, National Communications Officer Solomon Nkansah and his deputies, and the former National Youth Organiser Ludwig Hlordze were on hand to provide critical input at various stages of the campaign operations in the region.
He departed the region humbled by the sheer support shown to President Mahama, having no doubt in his mind that come December 7th, the people of the Eastern Region will produce a victory which has never been seen before, for President John Dramani Mahama.
