Spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign Joyce Bawa Mogtari has appealed to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo-Addo to give way for a much younger person to lead the party.
According to her, the former attorney general has contributed his bit to the growth of the country and must bow out now for other people in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition to continue.
Speaking on the Morning Starr Wednesday, the deputy transport minister said Nana Addo will be retired from politics in December when Ghana goes to the polls.
“I think it is time for a change over in the type of politics the NPP runs. I think it is time for Akufo-Addo to give way to a younger version of himself. It's time for the President to retire Nana Addo so we can congratulate him for the good fight fought. I think Nana Addo’s time was with Kufuor,” she said.
She added that even though the President faced severe challenges in the initial part of his administration, he handled them with finesse.
“Though the NDC has faced some challenges Mahama has handled them professionally and it shows he is a leader. Anyone who has encountered the President and his vice President will tell you about their quality and the kind of ideas they espouse”.
Commenting further on the NDC’s boycott of the IEA’s debate, Mrs. Mogtari said the IEA has a history of bias against the ruling party and they will not allow it to continue.
“We raised concerns about bias and certain past conduct of the IEA and those issues are serious to us. There are issues we raised that they have not been able to respond to. Our participation in the IEA will give the IEA some credibility...in future, we might participate in the IEA debate but not now,” she said.

Mrs/Madam, dze wo fie asem.in your house (NDC)the young guys/gals do not show that they are willing to lead a nation rather they are interested in create, loot and share of Ghana's resources. You are all benefiting from this agenda of CL&S. This is the reason why you are soon passionate about looking for your so called youthful President.
Always NDC is full of foooooooooooooools
yes!! I can assure you that. Have you seen Presidents Buhari and Ouatarra?
Donald Trump was asked to step down a few weeks to elections. Yet he won spectacularly. This woman is also at this point in time asking Nana Addo to step down with about 3 weeks to elections. May Nana Addo also by the Grace of God win spectacularly.

Joyce Bawa, are you not ashamed to talk about old and young in Ghana politics. If I were you I will not talk about this again because of young people like John Mahama, Okudzato Ablakwa, Afriyie Ankrah, Dzifa Ativor, and others. Have you seen how they have stolen ghana and incompetently managed the economy. You are still talking about old man and young man. Look at how the oldmen in NPP managed themselves when they were in power. Even look at the oldmen in NDC.
Ghana will be far better under de old man than de incompetent Mahama.Change is a must.
Hahaha why is the presidency for the young, anyway opinion are like noses,we all have one so stay blessed
