The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), is urging voters to critically examine the manifestos of the political parties to deliver the right judgement at the ballot.

Mr. William Klutse, the Adansi South Director, said they should have better understanding of what they were voting for, to enable them to hold their elected leaders to account.

He was speaking at a public education forum on next month’s election organized in Akrofuom.

It brought together representatives of the various political parties, religious leaders, youth and women groups and the general public.

The programme, organized by the Commission with support from the European Union (EU), aimed at helping to deepen voter education on the electoral process to get everybody to do the right thing.

Mr. Klutse advised the people to be guided by their conscience and refuse to be influenced by politicians with money and gifts.

“Vote selling and buying”, he added, was wrong and unhelpful to the growth of the nation’s democracy.

Mr. Augustine Addai, an official of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the District, underlined the need for all to show good faith and accept to play by the rules of the game to ensure smooth and credible polls.

He also called for strong support for the Commission to conduct yet another successful election, come December 07.
