Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Ghana Police Service Superintendent Cephas Arthur has slammed politicians in Ghana describing them as hypocrites.
His comments follow recent attacks on the police administration by some citizens over their allege bias and unprofessionalism and their failure to manage electoral violence in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Radio’s Kwame Tutu, the Police PRO said, political party leaders who chide the police are the same persons who incite their followers, buy them offensive weapons like guns to engage in violence.
He said, ‘’politicians in Ghana are hypocrites. They incite and sponsor their members to engage in violence and hooliganism then they later accuse the police of bias and unprofessionalism. Politicians are the ones who buy the guns for the members and when there is violence, they blame the police. The hypocrisy must stop. You cannot sponsor violence and incite your members and later blame the police for failing to prevent these occurrences you sponsored.’’
The police he emphasized will continue to maintain law and order, arrest and prosecute persons found culpable of violence and instability.
He charged politicians to stop dragging police officers into politics and allow them to discharge their duty with utmost integrity.
Superintendent Cephas Arthur said the police administration will not be intimidated or compromise their professional ethics for any political party or politicians.
''The police have adopted measures to ensure stability in this country especially as we prepare towards the presidential and parliamentary elections. We have met with all the stakeholders in the upcoming polls. We are fully prepared for the election and I want to assure Ghanaians that, we will not compromise the safety of citizens for any reason.''

I feel so sorry for this man Cephas Arthur. Everybody can see through your action and in-actions that you are an NDC politician in uniform and your time is up. Hypocrite like you calling others hypocrites. You think we dont tyhe grand scheme you and your boss Kudalor planning. The Lord of host will blow your cover very soon. the NPP's complains about the violent attacks on its members and the call on the police to enforce the law has incensed this man to throw all these vituperation. All the occasions where violence attacks have been conducted by the NDC on NPP supported that was presented to you, what have you done about them?.Instead of telling us what you have done to bring the perpetrators of these violence acts to book to engender confidence in the police you are all over town talking rubbish. I have told you and keep telling you. No condition is permanent.
Why can't you tell the president right away that he is innocent but draw in all politicians in this allegation? Simpa panyin!
Public servant speaking like that,he should be fired immediately. And more so he is a PRO.A big ***barred word***
Mr Arthur if you have any evidence that politicians buy weapons to their supporters to wreak havoc, why don't you cause their arrests or at least name and shame them? Are you employed to complain about problems or to solve problems?
