The New Patriotic Party [NPP] has rendered an apology to Concerned Teachers Association of Ghana for a repugnant comment from their party member, Maxwell Kofi Jumah.
The former Kumasi major on Thursday descended heavily on members of the CTA for urging the incoming Nana Addo administration to fulfill its promise to teacher trainees by restoring the training allowance within hundred days.
He said "Nana Akufo-Addo made a promise and it spans four years …but to put a gun to his head and give him an ultimatum of 100 days that is what is ridiculous . . . If they know how to give ultimatums, I think that they should redirect their ultimatum to the previous government.”
But his utterances to the teachers according to his party’s General Secretary were “totally unacceptable” and not a communiqué from the party.
“We are sorry about that. I don’t think the party will tolerate that at all. Kofi Jumah does not speak for government. We plead with Ghanaians and teachers, whatever promises we made will be fulfilled,” John Boadu said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’
Meanwhile, the former Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has rendered an unqualified apology to the Coalition of Concerned Teacher (CCT) over his comments.
He shared his apology on his official Facebook wall - “My friends, thanks for your advice and direction. It was never my intention to attack teachers as a whole. Indeed I am very much aware of the overwhelming support that the NPP got from teachers. I went overboard and I sincerely apologize for that. I was caught off guard. And it was very unfortunate. I sincerely believe Nana will deliver on his promise to our teachers and to Ghanaians. Once again accept my apologies.”

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. OK we have began advising ourselves. With your pride again and we are prepared to vote against incompetence. Fill the or vacuum before some entities fill them to cause unnecessary circumstances
Kofi, is too early to start throwing bombs. U can ask the NDC's the outcome of their arrogance towards Ghanaians. John Boadu thanks for alerting him. Mind the way u speaks bcos 4 years is just at the corner ooooooo
This particular promise does not need a legislation. the 100 day ultimatum is very and too long.
Ghanaians vote people into political positions to serve but not to lord it over them. This is an early yellow card to you honourable. The next time it is your political ambition that you are ruining.
KOFI Judah should not be speaking for govt.
Correct I hope you have learnt a lot of lessons from the NDC's failures.Never Never be arrogant towards Ghanaianas and try as much as possible to fullfill majority of the promises you made to Ghanaians, and I promise you the NPP will be in power for a very long time if you heed to this advice
