It's amazing how people show respect to their elders, particularly in times of need. Some tend to kneel or bow before their superiors while others resort to other humble means to display their respectful character.
This was exactly the case at the forecourt of Parliament House Thursday when President John Dramani Mahama went to deliver his last State of the Nation's Address.
Present at the Legislative House were various dignitaries including Former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Arriving at the premises, an interesting event occurred when former President Rawlings was walking up the stairs leading to the entrance of the Legislative House.
For the Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuiye, it must have been a mortifying moment captured in a video gone viral when he attempted to seize the opportunity to exchange pleasantries with the former President; and Mr. Rawlings openly rebuffed him.
Mr. Rawlings seems to have had enough of Oko Vanderpuiye and so blatantly refused to recognize the latter when he (Oko Vanderpuiye) approached him (Rawlings).
Watch the awkward moment below:

thank you JJ you be one honest guy waa.484208
Even in KEEA the exexutives choose who to become a memeber and who not to become a memeber ,when party is made up of people not those who think they have power,I challenge the committee to investigate if they even had time for those who wanted just a membership card.NDC deserve opposition for now, they have to go hungry a little.when they are hungry they will come back to reality
Madman like that as a former statesman. I think I understand better now when Kwaku Baako says this man is a walking contradiction, walking illegality.A Scottish bastard who stole from us like no other. It serves Mahama and his northern people right for following this ***barred word***.
oko u meet ur meeter papa J thumps up
Rawlings is an uncultured ffoolish bbustard together with his menopausal greedy ashianti ddzimakpla with. They can together go to hell and sleep there
JJ is nobody. Even the international community ignores him. How many assignment has he had from the international community since he left office. This tells you the caliber of person he is.Ignoring him is the best. The wife is even worse.
Wow! it seems to me that JJ had had a very bad day. This should explain why his wife did not accompany him. He slept on the couch the previous night. One may imagine the turmoil and uproar in the house since the elections when it became obvious that he did not vote for his wife.
Papa J keep the double-face ev1l-natured away
uselesssss rawlings apuuuuuu ,dis is madnessssss
NDC needs to understand that in Ghana political parties have roots. CPP- Nkrumak, NPP-Danquah Busia Dompo and PPP- Paa Kwesi Ndoum. What is the tradition of the NDC? They must be careful if they want to remain relevant in the political discourse in Ghana. I vividly remember the names they called Rawlings. They must have a legacy and its about time they go back to the basics to get it right,
