Kumbumgu MP Ras Mubarak has described as illegal, the directive issued by Minister-designate of Local Government and Rural Development, Alima Mahama, on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo, ordering all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to leave office.
The letter revoking the appointments of the 216 MMDCEs said: “By virtue of Article 243 (3)(b) of the constitution of the republic, H.E the president of the republic has revoked the appointment of all MMDCEs with immediate effect. In this regard all MMDCEs are directed to hand over their relevant duties to MMDCEs for further instruction.”
The announcement followed recent pressures mounted on the MMDCEs who were appointed by the previous government to leave office following the investiture of Nana Akufo-Addo as president on January 7.
The letter also noted that new MMDCEs would be announced soon.
Commenting on the matter, however, Mr Mubarak said it was illegal for a minister who was yet to be vetted and approved by parliament to dismiss public officials. “She [Alima Mahama] has no such powers and, as a lawyer, ought to have known that she can't act on behalf of the President until parliament vets and approves her nomination. They are beginning to make a total shambles of running the country.”

And this guy calls himself an MP. Simple administrative procedures you don't understand. Even me sitting here can write to sack them if and only if the President authorises me to do that. Why the do we sign documents on behalf of somebody. Those who voted for you have wasted their time and vote.
POWERS OR NO POWERS SHE HAS SACKED THEM, PERIOD!!!!
IN WHICH POLITICAL PARTY WILL U FIND RAS MUBARAK? I REST MY CASE
Ras, in your haste to criticize, you failed to read to understand and have made such a f0000l of yourself. Shame on you.
THEY DON'T CARE IF IT IS RIGHT OR NOT, WE HAVE COME TO THE ERA OF JUNGLE JUSTICE, LAWLESSNESS, THUGGERY, AND RASCALTY. THAT IS WHAT IS REIGNING NOW
Ras mubarak should reinstate the MMDCE's if he thinks Alima has not got the authority to sack them. I couldn't think of how a constituency could be so daft to elect such a person as Ras Mubarak as their MP.
u see when we say incompetence has engulf ndc n some of its members they will rather resort to insult, Ras i bet to differ wit ur statement cos i guess ur understanding of the constitution is wrong cos Alima Mahama acted on behalf of the President n not as Minister designate if u care kw yet u open ur mouth saying ribb1sh, ignoramus!!!!... go back to school n stop bothering us wit ***barred word*** noise.
BY THE CONSTITUTION OF GHANA, AS QUOTED IN THE DISMISSAL OF THE MMDCEs, THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA CAN APPOINT AND DISAPPOINT MMDCEs. THE PRESIDENT CAN ASK ANYBODY INCLUDING YOU MUBARAK TO COMMUNICATE ON HIS BEHALF AT ANY FUNCTION ABOUT SUCH APPOINTMENTS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS. IT APPEARS THAT MANY OF THE MPS LIKE MUBARAK AND ANOTHER NDC MP FROM SEFWI, ARE NEEDED TO BE SCHOOLED IN THE CONSTITUTION. MP IS A DEFENDER OF THE CONSTITUTION SO IF AN MP IS IGNORANTT ABOUT THE CONSTITUTION IT IS PATHETICC AND A MOCKERY. I ONCE AGAIN INSIST THAT WE MUST WORK HARD AS A NATION TO CREATE THE SYSTEM AND THE CONDITION TO ELECT MMDCE AND ALL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS FOR THE STABILITY AND GOOD FUNCTIONING OF THE OFFICE OF OUR DISTRICTS AND CITIES. EVERY PARTY IN OPPOSITION SEES THE WISDOM OF ELECTING MMDEs BUT IT WILL TAKE A GENUINE, SINCERE AND A GOVERNMENT WHO IS COMMITTED TO THE GOOD AND WELL-BEING OF THE PEOPLE TO IMPLEMENT SUCH A NOBLE AND DEVELOPMENT-ORIENTED RESPONSIBILITY. I WISH THAT NANA ADDO NPP GOVERNMENT WOULD OFFER THIS HOPE AND OPPORTUNITY TO GHANAIANS AS THEY HAVE PROMISED. POP
Even you Ras Mubarak without an academic certificate was able to (mis)-manage the NYA
No wonder Dr. Bawumia said these NDC guys do not read. If you need attention, I am sorry you have started on a wrong note and again sorry for those who voted for you because you will never make any impact in Parliament
