Retired Ghanaian diplomat K.B Asante has called on the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko to resign over allegations of attempted bribery until his name is cleared through investigations.
According to the Ghanaian statesman, the President must impress upon Mr. Agyarko to quit since the allegation does not bode well for his government.
“It is a good idea that he should leave the scene. You cannot work with a minister with so many allegations especially when we have so many important things to do.
“So yes, here the president should step in [but] not in the public domain, but he should call the minister and ask him, ‘In the circumstances, will you please resign so that we go into this matter and if everything is fine I will find another thing for you to do?’ In my opinion, yes, he should call him not publicly but quietly and say, ‘Please, I expect you to resign on this matter so that you can clear your name,’” Mr Asante said on Class FM Monday.”
Mr. Asante’s claims come after, a member of the appointments committee of Parliament Mahama Ayariga on Friday alleged that Mr. Agyarko who was then yet to be approved gave the leadership of parliament some money as bribe to each of the minority members on the committee with the aim to influencing them so his nomination was approved without delay.
His claim has, however, been denied by several members of the committee including the Chairman Joseph Osei Owusu and Minority Chief Whip Muntaka Mubarak.

You are an elder man please respect yourself as such. Where were you for the past 8 years. I beg the elderly People of Ghana to lead an examplary life.
HYPOCRITE
Uncle KB...I respect you a lot. There was one time I saw you at the Christ the King Catholic Church. All my attention was on you...I could not concentrate on the Homily. It was being delivered by the Archbishop Palmer-Buckle at the 90th Birthday of Mr. Patrick Seddoh (about 2 years ago). You looked frail then but I learnt from people around me that you were even older than Mr. Seddoh then. So you are about 93 years now. I have been reading your articles and they are "wonderful". At times I wonder why you are still intelligent at this advanced age. It is all God. You are indeed my role model....but this comment you made; you should have been able decipher between the truth and lies. God is indeed watching all. Please be assured that, the truth will triumph...AMEN.
No lip service please we want prove, give Ghana the prof for the benefit of doughty.
panin gyimiii paaa nnieee
Hahahahaha NPP that said they are incorruptible? just few days into office and corruption and bribery allegations are popping up. Ghanaians are watching. Your excellency if you are indeed incorruptible then let Agyako step aside for clarity. I full support K.B Asante
Mr. Asante this NPP wolfs will eat up ooh, better talk not they will tell you where your parents come from pls pls pls they do not respect if is about their party you cannot criticise them ooh , this just a peace of advice .
Look at this old man too. where was he when they showed evidence of bribery against the former President. Did he have guts to call on him to resign. Now only three people produce Ghs3000 each out of an alleged GHs100,000 and he is so excited to be calling on people to resign. Pathetic
Five comments snice NPP came to power and not one when NDC was in power for 8 years. The old ***barred word*** has find his voice again. The same old ***barred word*** incited GA adange youth against Kuffour and he has started his ***barred word*** again.
This old man paaa! So he should give up even if this is a lie? We can see your hatred and partiality from afar. Some of these our old men are losing their sense of judgement these days.
