The Minority in Parliament has boycotted the approval of minister-designate for Gender and social protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba.
Otiko Djaba, refused to apologise to former president John Mahama for describing him as “wicked” and “evil” when she appeared before the Appointments Committee for her vetting.
Addressing supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the electioneering at Asawase in the Ashanti region, the NPP National Women’s organizer said: “President Mahama’s time is up…president Mahama is extremely wicked and so he must step down.”
The Minority caucus on the Appointments Committee made a fruitless attempt to get her withdraw the comments when she appeared before them on Tuesday.
Ms. Djaba, however, said she does not owe the former president any apology, arguing that she was simply exercising her freedom of speech.
Meanwhile, the Majority side of the House have reportedly approved her nomination as Minister for Gender and social protection.

Just as it is fair to say two wrongs does not make it not make it right, I am a bit confused about the actions of the NDC members in the appointment committee and at best they want to be seen to be doing their job. Off course they are paid for that. One person that has received more insults probably you will say he was not a President by then is Nana Addo to the extent that my friend Vanderpuyne made us understand that Short men are an anomaly in child birth. None of those NDC GUYS SAID A THING ABOUT IT. What a shame. I congratulate the majority in Parliament and will advise Otiko to take the same attitude to her job. STAND BY YOUR WORDS IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT.
NDC people are hypocrites. Have they asked their low life who insulted Nana Akufo Addo to apologies? They behave as if they are the only people who have blood in them. I have respected Otiko for holding his grounds.
Hahahaha, THIS REMINDS OF SHADRACK, MESHACK AND ABEDNEGGO IN OUR HOLY BIBLE. OTIKO REFUSED TO BOW TO NDC'S god SO WHAT? OUR TRUST IS IN GOD ALONE WAI. NOTHING SCARES US EXCEPT GOD. OTIKO ALL THE WAY
the minority can boycott all the ministerial appointments, they are all going to be approved!.its their their own problem, who cares??/
shame minority
All those WOULD BE appointees should learn from Ms Otiko Djaba. Truly the man FAILED Ghanaians only those IN and ON the Umbrella (CREATE LOOT & SHARE) will say he did something for Ghana.
She Used Your Father "peniis" and your brother Prick. ***barred word***, phul/
My humble submission is that all manner of people in authority must be accorded the respect due them. If honourable Gyaba has to apologize for her to be approved, pls do it. It adds more dignity to you as a person. This wouldn't let Nana , our president say stand aside. I am on course coming to assist you in your ministry.Thank you.
God bless the majority.God bless Otiko.
Apologise to those w0rthl3ss 1-diots? What did Otiko do wrong. Some of the minority members on the committee have said worse against Nana Addo without any apology. Instead of them to concentrate on the task given them, they sought to do the bidding of the di$graced John Mahama. I am in full support of Otiko's stance. As a male dominant world, we are scared S-H1-T of Females we perceive to be strong. Ghanaians were mute when Dr Tony Aidoo referred to President Kuffour as someone who is so incoherent that he talks like a ***barred word***. An insult that was rewarded by an ambassadorial post. So please leave Otiko alone wai!
