The action of some individuals who stormed the residence of NDC’s National Organiser, Kofi Adams, and seized his cars must be condemned and not entertained, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, Fritz Baffour, has said.
On Wednesday, 15 armed men dressed in military fatigues, suspected to be army personnel, stormed the private residence of Mr Adams and seized all his vehicles in the company of four alleged National Security officers and personnel from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
According to Mr Adams, who said he was in Dubai at the time of the incident, the soldiers ransacked his Tema Gulf City home on Wednesday afternoon and seized three Pick-Ups – two belonging to his brother – as well as two Land Cruisers.
The cars, according to the soldiers, were suspected to belong to the state and were taken to the Flagstaff House.
The cars were later returned and National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah apologised to Mr Adams on phone, saying neither he nor government sanctioned the raiding of his home.
However, Mr Baffour has said that he “finds that action very daft and out of place in this day and age”, adding: “I detest such arbitrary and summary expressions of power, from whatever source.”
The former Minister of Information commended the action of the National Security Minister for his intervention explaining that it was the right thing to do.
“Thank God, my long-time friend and former colleague Albert Kan-Dapaah, the Minister for National Security, saw fit to apologise and return the vehicles in question,” he noted.
Mr Baffour also condemned retaliations by one political party to another, explaining that it was irrational for persons to conduct themselves in such manner.
“The term ‘equalisation’ and what it connotes is absolute nonsense in a growing democracy and a developing nation, so we must eschew the tendency,” he posted on his Facebook wall on Friday, February 3.

If Kan is your friend AND SO WHAT. We don't know you very soon you will face the LAWS of this country.GHANA MUST WORK AGAIN.
There are certain things that a man of your standing shouldn't be saying, a former cabinet minister and also a memeber of parliament. It's just polite and cultured to talk in public with grace an nurture. Saying things like "daft" just because u disagree with someone seems very juvenile. I really expect more from u.
Look at this fake guy speaking in as much as we don't support this kind of things u guys are the last to comment on such actions, U are first to "Monday morning quarterbacking" Just a year ago ur so called party arrested a man saying he was suspected of taking pictures of NDC branding cars in his yard. I didn't hear ur complained. They didn't just go and take the cars they said the cars were governments.
Fritz, You are right and I am wondering why you never spoke up when people were being killed and cars were being seized from their owners in broad day light a few years ago. We must not be selective in our criticisms. What is wrong is wrong. Buying stolen goods is an offence. Is it wrong to protect government properties? Politic is blinding all of us.
What are you doing with 5 cars? Oh Ghanaians. We don't set our priorities right. Five cars for what? Two cars are ok at a time, but 5 is too much for one person. Some even have as many as 3 cell phones. smh. Three phones for what? I think we need to travel to live in developed countries and learn their culture. We are just weird!!
Did you reprimand your own ndc and call them daft when they went on a car seizing spree and even took the vehicle belonging to the governor of the bank of Ghana?!?
Fritz don't mind these NPP guys. When the slate changes, even in 100yrs, we shall see who would cry. Let them go on with their barbaric acts in this age. In 2009, Mills resisted the pressure to use the over-bearing state apparatus to go after the NPP and that was his "crime" that JJ never forgave him. Go on NPP and be happy
THANKS.NDC HAVE NO BRAINS.
5 cars in 8 years does it make sense to u.u r rather daft
