The Deputy Eastern Regional Organizer of the biggest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Hackman Kabore has said that the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Stephen K. Opuni, contributed significantly to NDC's defeat in the 2016 polls.
Dr. Opuni, who was recently directed by the presidency to hand over to the president's representative at the ministry of Agriculture, has been accused of not connecting with members of the NDC thus contributing to voter apathy.
Speaking on Radio 1’s morning show host Osahene Kofi Owusu on Susubiribi, Hon. Hackman Kabore, insisted that Dr. Opuni caused the NDC’s defeat.
"How did we suffer our defeat; because apathy set in. People refused to go to the polls because they were jobless, because they were suffering and Opuni refused to give them jobs as he refused to create employment for them," he alleged.
Hon. Kabore also accused the former COCOBOD CEO of ignoring people who were not within his circles, making it difficult to engage him on matters pertaining to policies.

What did the minister for Youth and Sports say at the vetting that was so inappropriate? By the way, the vetting committee is only trying to antagonize appointees and not asking the appropriate questions. They are forcing apologies and retractions for their tin God Mahama. Le us all be fair.
We don't have any political party in Ghana call New Democratic Congress. Thanks
The N.k-wasiafou party members are fighting and blaming themselves
So NDC is still pointing hands to who caused their defeat infact NDC got a long way to go papa cos Ghanaians are not ready for any incompetency again wai
The attitude of Dr Opuni and NDC officials during their reign should become lessons for the governing NPP. Already the arogance of power has gripped some of HE Nana Addo's appointees. The attitude of someone like Hon. Isaac Asiama the Minister of Youth and Sports at the verting Committee is a big sign of a disaster-minister in waiting. The fact that you have power now DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE POWER CAN'T THINK!!!! Respecting all manner of persons is very important. Thanks Dr Opuni for teaching us such lessons from your attitude at FDB and COCOBOD.
