A former presidential staffer James Agyenim Boateng is alleging that current government has already ordered 2017 brand of vehicles for use by its functionaries and looking for ways to justify its outrageous expenditure.
Mr Agyenim Baoteng believes the current government is only creating the impression that vehicles have been stolen by past government officials to court the sympathy of the populace and justify their decision to procure new vehicles.
He asked for the whereabouts of two bulletproof vehicles that were at the presidency only meant for the use of the president to the extent he now has to use his private vehicles for official duties.
“Ask them where those two bulletproof vehicles are. I just don’t want to talk about this anymore. The NPP want to court the sympathy of Ghanaians and justify the latest vehicles they have already ordered into the country. There was an inventory which clearly spelt out who was using what; so if they have challenges they know those using the vehicles”, he disclosed on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm.
The former Deputy Information minister accused the Acting Director of Communications at the presidency Eugene Arhin, of peddling falsehood advising him to live beyond reproach.
The presidency earlier this week said there are 208 cars unaccounted for at the Flagstaff House’s vehicle pool following the change in government on January 7, 2017.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, indicated that this was detected after the assessment of five car models in the car pool inventory of the Flagstaff House.
“Just these five models account for 208 vehicles which we strangely cannot find,” Mr. Arhin said speaking to the media.
Breaking down the current situation with the cars, Mr. Arhin said: “In total, if you look at the documents provided to me by the transport officer, we were supposed to have a total of 196 Toyota land cruiser vehicles, we are supposed to have some Toyota Land Cruiser Prados; a total of about 73 and then Mercedes Benz, BMWs and other vehicles.”
“…But what we came to meet was something that surprised all of us. For example, you take a look at the Toyota Landcruiser vehicles, we were supposed to have 196 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles at the presidency. We only came to meet 74. That means you have a total of 122 which we still cannot find. For the Toyota land cruiser Prados, the total is 73. But we only came to meet 20; so you have a 43 difference.”
“You look at something like the Mercedes-Benz; there were 24 in total; but we came to meet 11. Toyota Avalons; there were 28, but we came to meet two and for the BMWs, there were six and we came to meet only two.”

These is what happen when you and your NDC Gr@@dy Ba$ard$ decided to Stea1 gov't cars when you are leaving gov't .
You should be ashamed of yourself. Advise your people to return the stolen cars. We are fed up with your continous propaganda. You did not describe the cost of your inter-change bridges, the Ridge Hospital and Vice President Buildings as outrageous. What are the cost of the Cars you are talking about? You better ***barred word***.
I hope you listen to yourself. There was nothing like patapaa. You were simply an incompetent lot. Your performance was very abysmal and full of unprintable language from the 'children with sharp teeth'. That is why you are out of office. Moreover we should wish the country well and not this attitude: They did it so we will do same! That is very negative. Ghana will be whoever is in the saddle of governance.Be patriotic for once.
As a Ghanaian, i find it amazing that this practice of selling fairly new cars by government officials to themselves cuts across both ndc and npp.Yet they come to us begging that they have our welfare at heart. Its common knowledge that any government leaving office buys the good cars at cheap prices superintended by the constipated STC. The new Government also find fine excuses to buy new ones for the sake that they too can buy at the closest future. Now to my real bleed in my heart - Why should the cars be sold? why cant the next govt use the left over cars? why cant we say that we are not flatulently rich so we cant always buy fresh cars whiles school buildings are killing children? What a country ?
Eugene Arhin created all this mess by naively going public on the issue of the vehicles. Lack of experience and tact have shown in Eugene's performance so far. Ghanaians are no longer lazy when it comes to critically analysing issues. Why did Eugene want to embarrass the former president? The former president's God is speaking for him and NPP will be embarrassed beyond redemption. Manassey Azure has just confirmed that the Ford Expedition was at the Jubille House as of January 11, 2017 yet NPP said it was not part of the vehicles handed over to them.
The saying that what is good for the goose is equally good for the gander is being play back today. Didn't NPP tagged everything that NDC did as corruption, so today if they are in the driver's seat they can't put dust in our eyes and court public sympathy to spent. Now so NDC should keep quiet for NPP to justify their corrupt tendencies to spend when there equally fairly new vehicles that they can use. We NDC will not sit down and look on unconcerned. The way they made the country ungovernable for us so we will also make sure we give them equal measure. After all if the country is bettered is for everyone to enjoy but to use patapaa and lies just to get to power is unpardonable.
Did I hear Agyenim say " outrageous expenditure "? Like seriously seriously serious? I'm sure Npp government buying new car are captured in their GREEN BOOK. Use- less people
AGYENIM BOATENG, YOU ARE MY BROTHER STOP THIS ***barred word*** AND MY FOOT PROPAGANDA. YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN AND A CHRISTIAN AS WELL HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
These functionaries of NDC should realise that they are completely out of office and therefore should give Ghanaians a break. How can they call the shots when they have been booted out of office? I, for one, do not take their comments that seriously: that the new government wants to purchase new vehicles! AND SO WHAT IF NEW CARS ARE TO BE BOUGHT?
SO WHAT ? AFTER 8 YEARS OF YOUR CORRUPTION ,YOU ARE STILL TALKING ?
