Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has hit hard at the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, claiming they did a "useless work".
Kwesi Pratt explained that one of the factors that led to the NDC's defeat in the 2016 elections was because the government failed to bring relief to Ghanaians in their budget statements.
According to him, the erstwhile Mahama administration was supposed to read a budget that would have a direct influence on the citizens but rather made a lot of "useless" interventions that didn't benefit the population.
Mr. Pratt was commenting on the 2017 budget statement by the ruling government dubbed the "Asempa" Budget which is translated as the "Good news budget".
He noted that if the NDC had presented the budget statement by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta to the nation; it perhaps would have remained in power.
To him, a budget is a "a political instrument that shows the direction of the government and this budget defined that thing clearly", " . . two of the best examples is so-called abolition of taxes on spare parts . . . The second one is the Kayayei thing. That is how the budget should be. I’m not saying it’s wrong. When you finish reading a budget, you have to see which sections of the society are going to benefit and which sections of the society are not going to benefit.”
“That’s what our brethren in the NDC didn’t do and so suffered. If you do Circle interchange, you this or that, you do a green book and if you don’t direct it at a certain constituency make people own the budget or aspects of the budget; in terms of politics, you’re doing a useless work. That’s why you did a lot of useless works and this is a very important point for me. All the work they did, in the final analysis, look at the election results. So, people did not own the work they did," Mr. Pratt stressed.

You Kwesi Pratt contributed to what happend to NDC, you praised everything they did if they did ***barred word*** things then you were part of it.
NDC IS BETTER THAN NPP,THEY DID ALLOT OF DEVELOPMENT BUT THE FINANCE MINISTER FAIL THEM,THE TAX IS TOO MUCH,I THINK THEY WILL COME WITH BETTER VISION NEXT TIME.
kkkk AKO Zak Kofi Ankomah et al , one part is the reading of the budget and the other is its implementation .As Ghanaian is my hope for everyone the be relieved from poverty .But i dont agree at all with Kwesi when he did say that NDC did ***barred word*** work .in the long run people will appreciate the works,ie the building of hospitals schools and all . The truth is that , you cannot eat your cake and have it .npp will relief the of taxes at the expense of infrastructural development. in simple terms , you cannot say u are building a house and at the same time living joyously in respect of nightclubbing ,eating big and all . Nkrumah work will forever lie fresh in my mind
Kwasi Pratt again digger
Kwasi Pratt is trying to be smart. He wants to condemn NDC so he can join NPP and continue to get government money to chop.
THANK GOD KWESI PRATT HAS NOW RECOVERED FROM HIS HEART ATTACK SUFFERED AT THE WIN OF NANA AKUFO ADDO AND THE NPP IN THE 2016 ELECTIONS. KWESI PRATT, GOD RULES THE WORLD AND NOT MEN AND SENIOR JOURNALISTS. IT IS GOD WHO DECIDES WHO RULES THE WORLD.
Kewsi, How do you expect a government that gives big cars to people like Akua Donkor and sponsors some journalists' children to study abroad without merit to read such a budget. You were hopping onto presidential jets as if it was a try-tro. What were you doing? Didn't advise them. Stomach journalism and politics will always be exposed..wait to see how brains work. Loud mouth doesn't manage economy, right?
Asiedu Nketia zip your stingy mouth up and never ever compare yourself into the shoes of the excellency Nana Addo the president of the republic of Ghana. You got to respect the Man who has vision and love for his Nation, he is not just a leader with'' ONAABO'' kind of ruling,No sense of governing the NDC party after the death of Atta Mills until to date, God listening to his people who were suffering from hunger frustration and death in the hands of NDC party. Thanks to the Lord for save us from the iron feast rulers the NDC party.
Others have said it all so Kwesi, youre forgiven. Go and SIN No MORE!
That’s what our brethren in the NDC didn’t do and so suffered--Kwesi Pratt. This should have read--That’s what WE in the NDC didn’t do and so suffered. What is the distinction between Pratt and NDC people like Namoale?? They share the same sentiments almost all the time.
