Member of Parliament for Bolga Central, Isaac Adongo says he walked out during a live programme on GTV because he realised the host was doing the bidding of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr. Isaac Adongo has been criticised for walking out of the studios of GTV during the live telecast of current affairs programme Talking Point.
Supporters of both the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP have waded into the matter with the latter criticising the Bolga MP for his “inappropriate” actions.
Speaking to Gold News, the Member of Parliament for Bolga Central, Isaac Adongo, said he was not treated fairly on the programme hence his decision to leave the studio.
"I think I was not happy with the host of the show because Kwaku Kwarteng who was representing the NPP, spoke for 15 minutes, but the moment I started speaking, Mr. Kwaku Kwarteng interjected and the host allowed him. Just less than 4 minutes into my time, to my surprise, I was told by the host my time was up and I felt the disproportionate bias was too much so I had to leave,” he explained.
Mr. Adongo said he was poised to revealing some misinformation channelled out by President Akufo-Addo in his maiden state of the nation address but he was denied by the host of the programme and Kwaku Kwarteng, MP for Obuasi West Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The MP for Bolga Central also said he would only appear on GTV’s Talking Point if the host would be fair and balanced.

MATRIKI WU-FREE SHS 400 MILLION CEDIS NOT SUFFICIENT BY 800 MILLION CEDIS FREE SHS TO COST $1.2 BILLION (¢4.8 BILLION) A YEAR – KOFI BENTIL The Vice President of IMANI Ghana, Mr. Kofi Bentil has disclosed to GhOne TV that the free Senior High School Program will cost government 1.2 billion dollars a year,i.e 4.8 billion cedis for form one to form three. This postulation according to him stems out of a number of extensive researches that IMANI Ghana has done on the free SHS program. Although, he acknowledged that the free SHS program is doable, he also admitted that it will be an opportunity cost for Ghana. “The free SHS is doable but it means that Ghana would have to cut down on a number of things to roll out this program. But the question is what do we cut? Government must cancel some social intervention programs like the LEAP, GYEEDA, MASLOC among others depending on its priority areas to facilitate the free SHS. We have to also cut down on corruption, tax evasions and deal with all leakages in the system to fund the free SHS,” Mr. Bentil explained. Mr. Bentil recognized that Ghana has what it takes to get the free SHS program running but ruled out the use of the heritage fund and expressed excitement that the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta has retreated on that consideration. However, he recommended the free SHS program should be progressive as lumping up all the other components together for a full start could pose a challenge. “I believe this program must be progressively free. For example, we can start with SHS 1 for the time being and graduate to the other levels but l don’t think it should cover boarding for now,” he added. In his opinion, if government does not pull up a tight plan to sustain the program it might get stalled along the way. Discussing the funding of the free SHS on ‘State of Affairs’ on GHOne TV, the Project Officer, Civil Society Platform on Oil and Gas, Mr. Chideze Ezekiel also indicated the use of the heritage fund for the fee SHS policy was unlawful and defeats the purpose for its establishment. He also recommended citizen consultation or engagement on how the program will be funded so that the will of the people will not be subverted. “After all, the president said in his inaugural speech that we should be citizens not spectators. So we need to open the source of funding for this program to a national debate for a consensus to be reached for all stakeholders to be happy,” Mr. Chideze argued. He also advised government to graduate the free SHS program from one level to the other while giving serious consideration to access and quality. Both guest on the show, lauded the free SHS policy and urge government not to follow due process to make the program sustainable. Source: Enerst Lartey

See who is talking Adongo, mmmmmm is good you walkout you were making the program uninteresting please you are mp learn to make your submission short, sense but you disappointed us that day if JM, guys in parliament will do this kind of debate then there would be no need for Nana & his guys to campaign for 2020.
@ Nabb I agree 4 years will soon come. The question is will Ghanaians be willing to even listen to the n0ns3nse the NDC spews all the time? Remember your election rigging machinery has been exposed and by God's grace Nana Addo will work hard to make our lives a little bit easier. So tell me why would any Ghanaian want the Ndc back? For the bungling management of the economy? The massive unbridled l00t1ng of money, cars, lands and mansions. we surely have to be gluttons for punishment to want that,So my friend go find some quiet spot and take your own worthless life, You'd have done society a good turn.
Pride will kill ndc people, no respect for Ghanaians at all
This is EXACTLY what other NDC communicators should be doing, on UTV, PeaceFM and CitiFM and Joy FM. Perhaps, to some of these Hosts, Ghana has only been better because of a party called NPP.
Isaac, no one wants your views. You can go burn the sea. You know what, the late Victor Selormey told Mr KWAME Pianim in a talking point programme and I quote' KWAME you have very good ideas but wait when you come to power then you can implement them. Take your views to Bolga Central. You are not even ashamed of what you did. Four years will soon come. Just wait and see.
