Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has revealed that Member of Parliament for Bawku Central wants another opportunity to apologise to Parliament for his behaviour on the floor on Thursday.
Mahama Ayariga flared up after he was found guilty of contempt by a report of an investigation into a bribery allegation against Chair of the Appointment Committee.
The Committee after its investigations said the MP did not have enough evidence to back the claims he had made and recommended that he is made to apologise and reprimanded if Parliament deemed it fit.
Mr Ayariga was asked by the Speaker, Mike Ocquaye, to apologise. The Bawku Central MP did so but half-heartedly.
But Mr Ayariga had reservations about the Committees’ work. He said under Order 191 which formed the basis upon which the Joe Ghartey Committee was formed, he did not think that the committee had the powers to make findings of contempt against him.
"Mr Speaker if you say I should apologise, I apologise," he said half-heartedly.
His response incensed the Speaker who said the issue will be further addressed if Parliament sits.

Mr Awal why do you say that Ghana is not for NPP, let call spade a spade and stop this tribalism and huligalism for our country to move forward
@Kofi K my question to you is simple and straightforward. Is the minority leader a member of the appointment committee? Do you think the energy minister will try to bribe those rich and strong ndc parliamentarians with such an amount?
#AYARIGAMUSTGO#
In certain jurisdictions the 1st Deputy Speaker, the Minority Chief Whip and all those involved in the scandal, the accuser and the accused would have resigned to maintain the intergrity of the House. Nonetheless what do we see in our country? Because of greed and the fear of becoming unemployable, these guys take us for a ride. When shall we learn to do the most honorable things. Who remembers what this Kyei Mensah Bonsu avered to during the NPP Paliamentary primaries in 2014? He was afraid of being contested and went about saying some of the old guys (lamed ones like him) should be have their seats protected because of their experiences in the House. Is he not part of the old chip of the block? They are all corrupt. I strongly believe Ayariga, and I were to be him, I'd rather continue to defend the intergrity of the House and make sure this wrought is uncovered. People do forget that sometimes when the foundation of a building is not strong, it would have to be re-build instead of trying to patch it. It is better the bean is spilled, and we begin on a new chapter or footing, rather allowing this to be a mystery. It is never a mystery, and I strongly believe if this is covered it one day backfire on the House.
Ghana is not for NPP Ghana is for Ghanaians let no one think NPP people owned ghana. We are proud of ayariga n I call for the resignation of Boakyi agyarko for bring this shame on Parliament and the government.
Leader please stop rearing the lion's cub. Ayariga is not parliamentary material allow Mr. Speaker to suspend him for a session. How will kids behave if this apology of an MP is allowed to remain in the house without sanctions.
NO, NEVER, THROW HIM OUT. HE IS A LIAR AND A DISGRACE!
