Audio Attachment: Listen to Fred Agbenyo on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' |
Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Fred Agbenyo says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is on a mission to destroy some persons at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Some SSNIT personnel are under investigation by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) over their involvement in the $72 million SSNIT software scandal.
About 15 witnesses have been subpoenaed by EOCO as part of the ongoing investigations into the award of the 72 million dollar contract.
Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Fred Agbenyo smelled political play regarding the scandal.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government is behind the leak of information regarding the SSNIT scandal in the media and the ruling party's aim is to "muddy the entire environment, to create confusion for everyone" so that by the time the investigations are over "people would have already demonized, criminalized and hanged some people.”
Fred Agbenyo noted that the SSNIT scandal report is a deliberate attempt by the government "to get their allies in the media, then they will highlight and sustain it for everybody to join in . . . These things are done consciously. Let’s get media houses to carry it every day so as to destroy people. It’s consciously done. That is all we’re doing. I don’t think the effort is that we want to get to the bottom of it and fight the issue. That’s not what we’re doing. It’s the politics as usual."
He wondered how the issue was exposed to the media when an investigative body had already taken the issue up and probing to ascertain the truth.
To him, the NPP desires to just dent the reputation of the SSNIT officials.
The NPP, he stressed, is neither “seeking SSNIT welfare” nor "seeking the tax payer’s money. It’s politics that we’re doing at this point. We’re just doing partisan politics at this point just to criminalize and demonize people. That is what we’re doing now and people are behind it, stoking the fire . . . ”

Not strange. NDC planted those ***barred word*** there to siphon the poor pensioners money into their coffers so why not, Fred Agbenyo can say anything to spite those whose monies have been stolen. A party of ***barred word*** - see the catalogue from Akomfem to SSNIT plus presidential ambition. ONAAPO!
Fred, please tell us what the NPP must do. Is it a fact that there has been some malfeasance at SSNIT?If the answer is yes, then tell us whether it is wrong for these persons to be exposed. Allow the processes of investigations and subsequent prosecution to go on. Don't stampede the process by labeling anybody or group of people.
I don't blame you at all. I blame the media houses that fails to ask intelligent questions to reveal the F.OO.LISH.NESS. of such I.D.I.O.T.S. Imagine this guy in public office? what do you think will happen?
Either Fred is not contributing to Social Security, strill dreaming from COMFORTABLE LEAD or needs medical attention
such an idoootttttt!
when will these guys credit the people of Ghana with some intelligence? so this the brilliant idea this young-man could come up with when called to contribute to this disaster in SSNIT,
THIS NOTION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD THE LAST PARLIAMENT PASSED THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION BILL SO WE COULD FIND OUT ISSUES OURSELVES. SO THE CURRENT GOVERNMENT IS BEST ADVISED TO DO THE RIGHT THING. PASS THE RTI BILL
isn't intriguing anytime corruption is mentioned the NDC goes wild with all manner of allegations against the government, to them corruption is normal.but want assure them that Nana Addo is not perturbed all, will advise you to prepare and strengthen coz Nsawan is wildly waiting your arrival
Why is it that any time an investigation is been carry out in one organization or the other and revelations are uncovered, the NDC try to find fault and try to bastardize it ? Is the NDC telling us that, their so called mantra of Probity,Accountability and Social Justice not their foundation anymore? If you don't probe people, how will you expect such people to account properly to ascertain their integrity? Or the NDC set those principles for other people but themselves ?
