The Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sternly warned ex-President Mahama to refrain from insulting members of the ruling political party in his own interest.
The regional branch of the party said it would be forced to hurl insults at Mr Mahama if he continues to denigrate NPP and its members publicly.
The party observed that ex-President Mahama has over the years insulted NPP members.
The NPP said Mr Mahama recently described its members and leaders as pigs while addressing NDC members at Cape Coast over the weekend.
“We respect Mr Mahama because is a former president of the country but if he (Mahama) continues to hurl insults at the NPP and its members, then we would be forced to retaliate, it said.
Sam Pyne, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, stated that the NPP and its members have restrained themselves in the wake of unprovoked attacks by Mr Mahama.
“If he continues to insult us, then we would be forced to shun all considerations and insult him in retaliation,” Sam Pyne, who was angry, stated on Peace FM morning show hosted by Kwami Sefa Kayi.
“Mr Mahama is a statesman and we, in the NPP, give him all the respect that is due him as a former president, but if he continues to insult us, then we will be forced to reply him in his own words, he declared.
Touching on other pressing issues in the NDC, he said the so-called unity walks to help unite the largest opposition political party have created deep cracks in the NDC, saying that the party is sharply divided currently.
According to Sam Pyne, Mr Mahama is sponsoring the unity walks in his bid to lead the NDC in 2020.
“Kojo Bonsu and Joshua Akamba, two staunch Mahama boys, have been organizing nationwide NDC unity walks.”

Alas thank u so much. "When u throw a stone against the wall ........." What didn't NPP do to the former president when he first came to power after his master's demise. So NPP shouldn't pretend they're angels wai. "Thou shall not judge"

I don't think the former president really meant to insult. Lets put this behind us and get going. The bigger task of nation building is ahead not behind.
You are a hypocrite if you side with mahama.hama....I dont think he spoke well, looking at his level and position now,he can do better than raining insults.... Literacy is killing all NDCs and any one siding with MahaMahama...He is a Disgrace to Ghana....I am a Patriot, come and beat me if you dont understand "Nkwasiaafo ne mo ***barred word***".***barred word***".....NDC party is dead Forever...😃
ILLITERACY IT IS SAID IS A DISEASE. IF ARE ILLITERATE AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND SIMPLE IDIOMATIC EXPRESSIONS YOU CAN GO FIND AN ENGLISH DOCTOR TO CLEAR YOU OFF THEIR DISEASES.
The wise among the Ndc understood his analogy and were appalled by it. I know what i am saying. For christ sake some of us in Npp are restrained by our Christian options. However if this continues from no less a person as a former president,a statesman we all cherish and revere, I can promise our utterances would be unprintable. Decency, decorum and peace please.
Mahama has proven that what was said about the northerners cannot not be trusted with the mantle of the nation. Arrogance,Irrespective, trouble shooter. What made us vote him out is coming out again. Ghana is grown now. It is what WHAT WE SEE and not WHAT WE HEAR. JM dont forget. Heal the wound you have left us in NDC.
THOSE WHO SAW WHAT FORMER PRESIDENT MAHAMA SAID AS AN INSULT CAN GO TO HELL. WE ARE SIMPLY FED UP WITH YOUR TWISTING OF WHATEVER THE FORMER PRESIDENT SAYS. THIS SIMPLY EXPLAIN WHY SOME OF YOU CAN'T SPEAK SIMPLE ENGLISH. YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN ENGLISH ESPECIALLY LITERATURE IN ENGLISH TO UNDERSTAND CERTAIN CHARACTERS. MAHAMA REFERRING TO PIGS DID NOT MEAN SOMEBODY IN NPP IS A PIG. HE USED THE ANALOGY IN THE STORY BOOK ENTITLED "***barred word*** FARM",IN WHICH THE PIGS REFERRED TO AS NAPOLEON WHEN ENJOYING TOLD THE OTHER ANIMALS THAT SOME ANIMALS(THEMSELVES) ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN OTHERS. JOHN MAHAMA USED THE EXAMPLE IN THE BOOK TO MAKE HIS POINT, SO WHY TWIST THIS TO MEAN AN INSULT TO SOMEBODY THAT A POLITICAL PARTY IN A REGION WILL WASTE ITS TIME TO ISSUE A STATEMENT ON THIS. ARE THE EXECUTIVES OF THE NPP IN ASHANTI REGION TELLING US NONE OF THEM HAS EVER READ OR HEARD ABOUT ***barred word*** FARM WRITTEN BY GEORGE ORWELL?. WHAT A SHAME. WHAT KIND INSULTS DID YOU NOT SPEW ON JOHN MAHAMA WHEN HE WAS THE PRESIDENT. DON'T BEHAVE AS IF YOU WILL NOT LOOSE ELECTIONS ONE DAY. THE SEED YOU ARE SOWING IS BAD AND WILL HOUND YOU ONE DAY.
A man of integrity will never do dis, ***barred word*** ex-president, even Papa J never did such thing, now we can say Shatta Wale is sensible dan u. Dead mind ex-president
