A Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Ahenkorah, a first-time Member of Parliament for the Tema West Constituency, on Tuesday, barged into a media interview, and hurled insults on NDC MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in the full glare of journalists at Parliament House.
The North Tongu MP was reacting to alleged money charged expatriates who sat beside the President during the recent Ghana Expatriates Business Awards.
The two nearly ended up fighting had it not been the intervention of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini who pulled Hon Ablakwah away from the scene.
Alhassan Suhuyini speaking in an interview on Class FM, said Carlos Ahenkorah ‘disgraced himself’.
According to him, “I was stepping out of the chamber when I noticed that Honourable Ablakwa was addressing the press. From a distance I saw that Carlos Ahenkorah was throwing his hands and throwing a lot of tantrums. So I got attracted to the scene to find out what was going on. All along when Mr Ablakwa was speaking to the press, he (Mr Ahenkorah) kept interjecting and insulting and making all kinds of allegations that were so unrelated to the topic that he (Mr Ablakwa) was speaking on.
When he (Mr Ablakwa) finished and was turning away then he (Mr Ahenkorah) grabbed him and said he (Mr Ablakwah) should stay and listen to his response so that he won’t reply again. That was when Ablakwa said he takes exception to the adjectives that he was using on him and it almost degenerated at that point. But I held Honourable Ablakwa and asked him to move away because I thought that Carlos was disgracing himself"

Ablakwa's choice of words in the Press Conference is very shameful. For such words to be coming from a MP and also for Foreign Affairs? The least said about him the better. He has rather brought the Presidency into dispute. Ablakwa has been known as somebody who hardly tells the TRUTH. We are all aware of the so called Boakye Agyarko bribery scandal. When he swore about an incident that did not happen. Secondly he made the whole world the the Presidency has purchased a fleet of vehicles when nothing like that has happened. He has not come out to apologize for these lies that he peddled. He is a DISGRACE as a Member of Parliament more so a ranking Member for Foreign Affairs. What is his expertise in this sector?
