President Nana Akufo-Addo had no idea whatsoever that expatriates were charged $100,000 to sit close to him, Communications Director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has said.
“…We want to be clear that we heard it just like almost everybody from the MP for Asawase on the floor of parliament and also through the media. The president had no knowledge whatsoever about the fact that people were being charged $100,000 to sit by him on a table, he had no idea whatsoever,” Mr Arhin stressed.
The President through the Chief of Staff has directed the Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen “to come up and brief him and tell him whatever is entailed in this issue because just like you, we have no idea, absolutely no idea, the president had no idea whatsoever that a certain amount of money was being charged by anybody for people to sit by him,” Mr Arhin reiterated in an interview with Joy FM.
Mr Arhin said “the president will make a final decision on that matter”, once Mr Kyerematen has briefed him by 5p.m. today, Wednesday, 20 December.
Mr Arhin said the President’s query to Mr Kyerematen is to enable him understand all the issues related to the alleged sale of access to him at the recently held award ceremony.

Its ok we understand and agree it could happen he had no idea. But what he does about this determines and says a lot... I am fast loosing confidence that he can fight corruption in his government if such acts can blatantly go on and unpunished. What of those that do not come to light in public, what does this tell others if they are able to explain it away and especially with all the funny explanations coming out?? It hurts my hear to say it seems corruption is here to stay. If Nana Addo cannot effectively fight it, no one will
Akufo-Addo Had “No Idea” Of $100,000 Access Fee’ – Eugene Arhin, lies ,lies and more lies from npp
Victor Gbeho and his wife are the once who organize the event. They took the money from the people. But I blame my npp people, why allow Victor Gbeho to do this event, take money from the people and now his own NDC party are saying NPP took the money. This is a big lesson to the NPP that stop dealing with NDC. When they were in power they never did anything with you guys.
Eugene Arhin is such a novice of a communicator. Why make this sound as if the trade ministry has done some wrong which the president is distancing himself from? He will cause issues for the jubilee house if he maintains his portfolio. What happened is a regular occurrence in advanced countries to raise money. What I abhor is the irregular behavior of Carlos Ahenkorah. He must be brought to book.
The question is was there a fee? Yes or No?
THE MINISTRY SHOULD SUE MUNTAKA AND OKUJETO TO PROOF THE ALLEGATION. I KNOW THAT WAS THEIR JOB WHEN THEY WERE IN POWER.
you guys think we are kids.Better than Jesus who did not charge his disciples when he dined with them.
