Dr Sekou Nkrumah, last son of Ghana’s first President Dr Kwame Nkrumah has today fired former President John Mahama over the latter’s unconfirmed candidacy for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2020 polls.

Writing on his Facebook wall, Dr Sekou Nkrumah who has being tagged with confusion and lack of seriousness said the more NDC members insulted him as being confused, the more NDC will remain in opposition, mynewsgh.com observed.

“The more they call me “confused”, the more they will remain in opposition! It is time the NDC people wake up from their slumber and listen! Some of us criticized their bad leadership when they were in government and they did not listen!”, he wrote.

He said NDC was suffering from bankrupt leadership but they refuse to learn. He called on NDC members to wake up and “smell the coffee”.

“They thought by winning the 2012 elections everything was ok? It was not! And still after that miserable defeat in 2016 they are still unrepentant about their bankrupt leadership! How many more defeats at the polls do they need before they finally wake up and smell the coffee”, he jabbed further.

On the possibility of a John Mahama candidature, he was empathic that JM, as Mr Mahama is affectionately called by teeming NDC supporters rooting for his comeback, “cannot lead the NDC anywhere”.

“Get rid of the loser fast”, he advised.

But scores of comments from NDC faithfuls, who didn’t take kindly to Dr Nkrumah’s post have taken it out on him uncharitably and advised him not to attempt to use Mr John Mahama’s name to regain his lost credibilty.

Meanwhile, Mr John Dramani Mahama is yet to announce his decision on whether he will contest the NDC Presidential Primaries this year or not.

Dr Sekou Nkrumah fell out with his sister Samia Nkrumah over the CPP their father’s political vehicle, and has since openly flirted with both NDC and NPP in the past, currently based in the US without allegiance to neither.
