Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahene has described as "laughable" calls by Britain's Prime Minister on Ghana to accommodate homosexuals.
According to him, under no circumstance will Ghana accept the practice “even if they force it on us. In Ghana now you can’t pass such law for homosexuals”.
Theresa May has said that she “deeply regrets” Britain’s historical legacy of anti-gay laws across the Commonwealth as its 53 leaders gathered in London for their annual summit.
The Prime Minister urged the Commonwealth nations to overhaul “outdated”, colonial-era legislation that treats more than 100 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people across the member countries as criminals.
May, had already gone further than any of her predecessors when she acknowledged last year that Britain had a “special responsibility” to help change hearts and minds on anti-gay laws.
May drew cheers from some in the audience on Tuesday when she said: “Nobody should face persecution or discrimination because of who they are or who they love.”
But to Obiri Boahene, “Theresa should keep the practice in her country”.
“She should think about our cultural practices, we don’t practice gay and we can’t accept them. This is not so simple to accept. It’s laughable; you can’t implement that law here in Ghana now. My dear sister should know that,” he said on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

So why is your boss mute about the issue? because your boss and our President is a gay, he has full support for it, if not so, he should have been the first person to make a strong statement against the bull sh1t the US allies are telling us. But IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN AFRICA. Obiri Boahen should tell Akufo Addo first. Empty talk, you will not tell your boss the truth.
GAYS can NEVER be allowed in Ghana!
Is the British Prime Minister aware, most of the countries she refers to, do not have laws prohibiting gays? She is doing a good job promoting anti-gay agenda. Interestingly, May would not tell Israel, China or Russia the B-U-L-L ***barred word***. Britain is still reeling from sending Alan Turing to his grave.
Yes. #AcceptPolygamy#Britain&USA
is Obiri Boahen allowed to talk now??if yes, he should tell us more about Nana Addo's "grabbing, grabbing".
They must also accept polygamy first....
Look into the face of nana addo and tell him this, since he has already said it's bound to happen. In any case, why didn't nana say his stand in front of Theresa May.
