President Akufo-Addo is astonished about claims made by embattled Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi in a documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas titled #Number12.
In the #Number12 video which was premiered on Wednesday, June 6, Nyantakyi boasts about his close ties to the Presidency and alleges that Akufo-Addo sold his properties to defray costs accrued after winning the 2016 Elections.
He also stunningly claims that all road contracts in Ghana are inflated, stressing that 'overpasses' of the same standard conducted in New York and Ghana cost $70 million and $150 million respectively.
Nyantakyi is also heard telling undercover reporters that the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, was the Assin Central MP’s pick.
“The guy who is there [at the Transport Ministry], Asiamah; that is his [Kennedy Agyapong’s] small boy,” Kwesi Nyantakyi said.
“So, he [Karbo] mentioned that they wanted to make him [Kennedy Agyapong] a minister because of the contribution he made to the campaign. [Kennedy Agyapong] says he cannot be a minister because he is not a disciplined person to be a minister. But they [the government] gave him a ministry. They created a ministry and gave it to him and he nominated somebody as the minister. Yes, Ministry of Transport.”
In a meeting with Anas' Tiger Eye PI collaborators who posed as a businessman, Nyantakyi is captured soliciting sums of money on behalf the President ($5million), Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia ($3million), the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah ($2 million) and his deputy Anthony Karbo ($1million).
Akufo-Addo has already filed a complaint at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service after watching a part of the #Number12 documentary before its premiere weeks ago.
However, in his taped response captured in #Number12, Akufo-Addo is recording saying he "knows nothing" and is "astonished" by Nyantakyi's claims.
He also categorically denied ever discussing any business with Nyantakyi stressing: "He is completely false, it is completely false".
Vice President Bawumia also responded in similar vein saying he is "very sad" about the developments and disclosing that he has never sat with Nyantakyi to hold a business-related conversation.

We are not kids ... You may be our great grand father but we are not fooools.... Take your surprise to the NPP headquarters, there you'll find solace
Have you watched the documentary or you are hearing from people? Can you point at one person in the current government who took bribe in the documentary? You call yourself observer so observe well before you open your mouth.
The cat is out of the net, forget about it, these people are money eaters, they eat like nobody cares, they are all lies and come 2020 they are all out period. Just forget about NPP they are all country fuuuckers and motherfuuucers, forget about them....
Please tell this to the marine. Nana Addo and Bawumia are more corrupt than the word itself. Taking over
why do people play and act dumb always huh ?? do you internet trolls and readers know the president has shares in TIGO ? If you think am lying cross check when NPP came to power u can see the adverts and link between Airtel n Tigo just to compete with MTN and Vodafone . The wise know politicians are all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ whereas the shallow n ***barred word*** will completely be ***barred word*** till Jesus come .. kokoase nkurasefo munsisa na gyimie no adoorso nti na politicians no di mu begyimi saaaaaa. do u think if more than half of Ghananians eye open like these politicians will ***barred word*** about, dey keep fooling coz majority are very low with thoughts .
I wonder how many journalist would pass this text. The only difference is that the journalist receive the money directly from their known politicians. Kwaku Baku, kwame Sefa Kayi, Kwesi Pratt, Suhini, Evans Mensah and a lot more. They are more corrupt than the GFA officials.
Please some one should tell Akuffo Addo that time is running fast on his decision on Kwesi Nyantakyi. The president must sack him, all the GFA Members, all the referees, suspend all football leagues in the country. Put in place interim Body of the GFA. Solicit the support of FIFA to train new crop of referees. That is the way to go. If Nana Addo fails to sack Kwesi Nyantakyi, I will believe all that he said in the clip and Nana Addo will pay a huge political price in the future.
Let us interrogate some of nyantakyi's statements. That akufo addo sold his properties to defray the cost he bore during the 2016 election. Journalists can find out if prez akufo addo sold some of his or family properties in 2017 and this is simple to do. The result of this singular investigation would help assess the veracity or otherwise of all the statements Nyantakyi had churned out in this particular anas'#12 Expose'
I don't believe Kwasi.N was bragging. Tony Lithur controlled Attorney General's Department, Women and Children Affairs and Aviation, three whole ministerial portfolios, not to mention Cocoa Board etc. I agree that Ken.A has his people in key areas, the lady who just died, Adwoa.S at Procurement (Presidency), Fiif.Bi at Cocoa Board, and the list goes on. Infact just yesterday I mentioned in a discussion that its seemingly appears Ken.A has put his people at really key areas. This, am not surprised if Kwasi.N claims Ministry of Transport was created for him, and its under his control. What I find amusing is A.Plus kept saying Abu and Asenso are corrupt, Kwasi.N says he will share $1M with Abu. Why didn't Kn say he will share with Madam Frema.O? Also, how about we contract for an independent price comparative analysis on the two projects Kwasi.N mention, "....he also stunningly claims that all road contracts in Ghana are inflated, stressing that 'overpasses' of the same standard conducted in New York and Ghana cost $70 million and $150 million respectively" and see if there is some truth in it. Kwasi.N was not bragging, because he didn't need to brag. He was just stating facts in a manner to buttress his point that with money to splurge, you can even build a public toilet at FlagStaff House, and we all know its true, or? The man is a very intelligent lawyer. To draft a 17 page contract in under 2 hours is impressive, and speaks volumes. I am sad he got caught up in this video, and like Brother Louis Farrakhan says, "when a man falls, don't laugh" so I won't laugh, not even for a second.
