General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has described the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin A.B.K. Amidu as a talkative, who is likely to be charged with causing financial loss.
He said he might be the one likely to be charged after his tenure of office as nothing shows he is working.
According to him, after his appointment as Special Prosecutor no work has been executed by his office, though he draws salary from the public purse.
"He has nothing to offer, just talking to waste public ear," he said.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he said the Special Prosecutor has reduced himself into a talkative other than executing his assigned duties.
"Look at the number of scandals that has rocked the NPP government, Ameri Deal, cash-for-seat among others, but he has refused to investigate all these scandals.
"Martin Amidu like I have said has nothing to offer Ghanaians and will not be able to execute or prosecute anybody within his term in office as Special Prosecutor," he added.
Mandate of Special Prosecutor
Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu was sworn in as Ghana's first Special Prosecutor by the President HE Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
The President, in his remarks, described the enactment of Act 959 and the successful appointment of Special Prosecutor as a historic event in Ghana's modern history.
President Akufo-Addo said in response to the overwhelming number of Ghanaians who had denounced the canker of corruption that had eaten up the fabric of public life, it had become necessary to establish an independent, non-political body with the relevant capacity to lead the fight against corruption in the country.
He said it was the expectation of Ghanaians that both past and present public officials were accountable for their stewardship.
"We expect the Special Prosecutor to discharge his duties vigorously with courage, without fear or favour, ill will or malice in accordance with the rule of Law,” Presdent Akufo-Addo stated.
President Akufo-Addo indicated that the establishment of the Office of Special Prosecutor was for a high purpose and should not, therefore, under any circumstance, be used as an avenue for persecution or vengeance.

NDC people should not throw stones simply because they live in glasshouse. they had cottonwool hanging in between their legs but they want to jump a fire. i remember President Kufuor jail the NDC ***barred word*** in his second term President NANA Addo is only in his second year so be patients with them.
Martin indeed has nothing to give he is just a noise maker and complete waste of public funds.
If he is your friend go to him tomorrow and advise him to start jailing ndc appointees since he is himself the law, the prosecutor and the judge at the same time. He himself told parliament that all his accusations against ndc appointees was mere perception. I think you should be worried because very soon he will start prosecuting npp appointees because their corruption is so visible to him.
The wise man has spokeh, Martin amidu has nothing good for us ,nana jest give it to him as thank you, now every body knows that npp jest make noise by calling NDC thievs, god punished martin and npp
they will say this in public and go to back him behind close doors. but on a serious note, Mr Amidu is taking too much time to throw these ndc ple to jail. i expect that by these time four or five ple may have been lined up for nsawam. or the creation of this office is to deceive us of their commitment to fight corruption? well, we are watching.
Masa, don't complain of witch hunting when he starts to prosecute your own people oooh.
